BEIJING, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Beijing Municipal Health Commission on Monday urged citizens to disinfect the outer packaging of goods ordered from overseas via e-commerce platforms or purchasing agents.

Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, made the remarks at a press conference in response to a media question.

"We firmly oppose any separatist act to create the so-called 'Taiwan independence,' 'two Chinas' or 'one China, one Taiwan,'" Zhu said, adding that issues across the Taiwan Strait should be settled by compatriots across the Strait and brook no external interference.

BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese mainland spokesperson on Friday said that a recent statement by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authority in Taiwan on its latest arms deals with the United States is a thinly-veiled military provocation and threat against the mainland.

"There must be no practice of exceptionalism or double standards. Nor should international law be distorted and used as a pretext to undermine other countries' legitimate rights and interests or world peace and stability," Xi said.
