SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police are investigating a shooting in the Chollas Creek area Friday that left a man with multiple gunshot wounds.San Diego Police say a 22-year-old Hispanic male was walking in the 5300 block of Lea St. when he was approached by a Hispanic male suspect sometime before 7 p.m. Friday. A brief conversation began between the two, before the suspect pulled out a handgun and fire four times at the man, police say.The man was hit three times by gunfire. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.The suspect fled the scene in a red sedan, heading eastbound on Lea St. He is described as being 5-foot 8-inches tall with thin build. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a suspect who reportedly stole a cello worth 0,000 from a Mission Valley hotel room.According to police, the incident happened on August 8 between 8 and 10 p.m. at the Town and Country hotel on the 500 block of Hotel Circle North.Police say the suspect forced their way into the hotel room, which was unoccupied at the time, and stole several items, including the rare, custom-made cello.The cello was made by Mario Miralles and has a label that reads “Mario Miralles 2010 Alta Dena California”. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after they say a man was stabbed while sitting on a bench at Balboa Park early Sunday morning.The stabbing happened on the 2000 block of Park Boulevard at 12:26 a.m. Police reported that the suspect walked up to the 29-year-old victim and asked him for a cigarette.After telling the suspect he didn’t have one, the victim was stabbed in the neck, according to police.The wound was non-life threatening and the victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition, police say.Police are still looking for the suspect. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles has announced he will retire from football at the end of the 2019 season, the Eagles announced Saturday.Sproles spent 15 years in the NFL, racking up 3,552 career rushing yards, 4,840 receiving yards, and 55 total touchdowns. He was a three-time Pro Bowl running back and spend six seasons in San Diego with the Chargers before heading to the New Orleans Saints and lastly Philadelphia.The 36-year-old Sproles told reporters he's at peace with his decision to retire.
