Ken Kratz, the lead prosecutor in the Steven Avery case, is speaking out following an announcement that Brendan Dassey's advocates are asking Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers for a pardon. "We developed a sensor that can identify people using biometric face matching at full walking speed at any light, even in total darkness," Haskett explains. Blink Identity was demonstrated at the KNOW Conference in Las Vegas, where dozens of startups specializing in identity technology featured new products. Here’s how it works: First, users register their information, like name and email address, on Blink Identity’s website. Next, users take and upload a selfie of themselves. The photo is then put into Blink’s database. The next time that user goes to an event, the facial recognition technology scans the user’s face and gives the green light to go in. If the scanner does not recognize the person, a red light appears and an alert sounds, letting security know that person isn’t authorized to enter. The technology will cut down on ticket scams and scalpers. Scalpers won't be able to buy tickets in bulk and jack up the prices, because there's no face registered to the ticket. This technology will also spot fake tickets, too. Blink is still testing the technology, but they are working with Live Nation to try to bring this technology mainstream. "The whole concept is to get rid of the piece of paper to get rid of the barcode and let your face be your ticket," Haskett says. NASCAR officials said Newman had non life-threatening injuries following a horrific crash at the end of the Daytona 500 on Monday.Newman is in serious condition after being transported to the hospital. As Newman approached the finish line of the Daytona 500 on Monday, he was set to win his first Daytona 500 in 12 years. But a nudge from behind sent Newman into the wall as his competitors crossed the finish line. The crash allowed Denny Hamlin to win his second straight Daytona 500. As Hamlin celebrated the win, attention quickly turned to Newman, whose car spun out of control and burst into flames. After Newman's car struck the wall and flipped, it was then struck at full speed by Corey LaJoie's vehicle, causing Newman's car to flip again. Emergency crews raced to rescue Newman following the stunning crash.The celebration for Hamlin was subdued following the race."I think we take for granted sometimes how safe the cars are," Hamlin said. "But No. 1, we're praying for Ryan. Worked really well with Ryan through this whole race, and obviously he got turned right there."Ryan Blaney, who came in second place, described his view of the incident.
