SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A new restaurant with a "Sam the Cooking Guy" concept is coming to Seaport Village. The Port of San Diego this week approved a 10-year lease with the owners and operators of Carnitas Snack Shack, Broken Yolk, and Little Italy food hall to open a new kind of restaurant at Seaport Village.The new restaurant, which will be on the east end of the property, will have a "Sam the Cooking Guy" concept. Sam Zien, also known as Sam the Cooking Guy, is a celebrity chef who aims to make cooking more down-to-earth, using ingredients that come from the everyday supermarket. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A man who admitted to several "Peeping Tom" instances in the Pacific Beach area was sentenced Wednesday.James Wayne Hubbard, 48, was sentenced to 364 days in jail for the series of incidents between Sept. 11 and Oct. 12.Hubbard pleaded guilty to three counts of peeping and prowling as part of a plea deal. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man involved in a DUI hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a young boy in the South Bay started his sentencing hearing Wednesday for violating federal immigration laws.Constantino Banda Acosta, a Mexican national who had previously been deported from the U.S. at least 15 times in the past, has been in federal custody since March over federal criminal re-entry charges.He was transferred to federal custody after charges against him stemming from a 2017 crash were dismissed.Banda faced charges in the May 6, 2017, crash in San Ysidro that sent young Lennox Lake to the hospital with serious injuries, including head trauma.Banda was initially charged with drunk driving and hit-and-run after authorities said he ran a stop sign at Dairy Mart Road and slammed his pickup truck into the Lake family’s car as they were heading home from a Disneyland trip.Banda left the scene but was arrested about two miles away after Border Patrol agents spotted his damaged truck parked on a street, police said.San Diego police Officer Michael Muniz testified in the first trial that Banda's blood-alcohol content measured .151 and .152.Following a mistrial, a judge dismissed the case against Banda in March, saying there was no clear evidence that showed he was behind the wheel at the time of the crash.Banda’s lawyers had argued that another man in the truck, Jorge Adame Ariza, may have been driving the truck after a night of drinking with Banda.Adame said Banda got into a fight with another man outside a Chula Vista restaurant before the crash. He’s known for backing progressive candidates and shaking up elections, usually with controversial ads.The ad lays out Geneviéve Jones Wright’s qualifications to be San Diego County’s next District Attorney. It does not attack her opponent Summer Stephan, which is what most politicos expected.Jones Wright told 10News she had not seen the ad.Stephan’s campaign manager said he’s surprised the ad is more of an introduction than an attack. Jason Roe also said there is no doubt in his mind the gloves will come off, based on what he called Soros’ pattern of negative and dishonest ads.Jones Wright filed a complaint with the attorney general claiming Stephan was basically campaigning on the job and using photo ops with law enforcement in her campaign materials.Stephan’s campaign manager called it a distraction. 1128

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Harley-Davidson owner is hoping for leads after his motorcycle disappeared from a mall parking lot in Mission Valley.Sebastian Rudi, who works at Westfield Mission Valley, was expecting to see his newly purchased 2002 Harley after his shift ended around 10 p.m. Saturday. Instead the bike that was parked in the underground lot, feet from the ramp into the mall, was gone."A little panic ... mixture of anger and pure disappointment," said Rudi.MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhoodThat may actually an understatement. The ,000 bike he bought in April was his pride and joy."I spent my entire life wanting a Harley. Spent every cent to my name on a Harley.
