SAN DIEGO (KGTV)- A trip to a dog park in Ocean Beach ended in a hospital visit for one San Diego couple.“I want her to go to jail, she assaulted my husband, and I’m angry about it,” said Ash O’Brien.O'Brien said she and her husband were at Dusty Rhodes Dog Park in Ocean Beach Thursday afternoon with their three-month-old puppy. They sat at a picnic table and began enjoying a meal when a woman reportedly confronted them for not wearing facial coverings and eating at the park where there is a no food policy.The confrontation ended with O’Brien’s husband being pepper-sprayed by the woman.“If we knew there was a no food policy, we wouldn’t have brought it into the park,” said O’Brien. “The lady who maced him automatically started saying stuff about us not wearing a mask when we were social distancing; there was no one near us.”O’Brien said that after exchanging words, the woman walked away from the picnic table but returned after a few minutes and did the unexpected.“She just came up without saying anything and just stuck the mace can right in front of my face,” said O’Brien.“My husband, being a good guy, walked in front of her and was like ‘hey calm down please don’t do this’ and then she grabbed him and just starting macing him, she used the entire can on him.”“We drove to the hospital, he got treated and everything,” said O’Brien.O’Brien said the pepper spray got on her arms and started to burn, while her husband was sprayed in the face.A witness captured part of the incident on camera and told ABC 10News she was shocked at what she was seeing. She recorded the woman’s license plate number.The couple filed a police report with the San Diego Police Department. The department confirmed they took a misdemeanor battery report but could not immediately provide further details.O’Brien was thankful none of the dogs at the park were injured by the pepper spray and wants the woman to be held accountable for the incident.“People don’t need to be getting assaulted for not wearing a mask in a public outdoor area,” she said. 2055

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Two bystanders were hurt in a shooting Saturday evening in Paradise Hills.San Diego Police said two Hispanic men were shooting at each other around 5:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Reo Dr. 10News spoke to witness Jauhn Hinkle, who was waiting to get his hair cut at the Fade Factory across the street. “Small caliber pops started going off across the street. I saw a muzzle flash,” he said. Hinkle said the fight began near the corner of Reo Drive and Cumberland Street. It escalated, as the two began to yell obscenities. Then one of the men started to chase the other while shooting at him. Hinkle recalled seeing five or six shots, all of which seemed to miss the intended target. Instead, two innocent bystanders were hurt. A bullet hit a 15-year-old boy in the thigh, and shrapnel hit a 48-year-old woman in the leg, police said.Hinkle ran toward the woman, who took cover in the La Palapa Market. “I asked where she was shot. She didn't know because of adrenaline and shock. She was on the phone screaming,” Hinkle said. The woman was transported to the hospital from the scene. The 15-year-old boy was transported to a different hospital, at a later time, San Diego Police said. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries.Hinkle said it is disappointing to see his neighborhood be the scene of a violent crime.  “Project Reo is doing an excellent job. Shout out to them," Hinkle said. "We want this place to pick up. and I think it is, so it's not reflective of what this neighborhood is like.”The shooters ran away. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Two men are dead and a woman is in critical condition after a car crashed into a Mission Valley bus stop Thursday.A driver collided with the three pedestrians in the 7500 block of Metropolitan Drive around 11 a.m. The driver remained at the scene for San Diego Police.One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The other male victim was later pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital. Both victims were identified as men in their 40s.A 49-year-old woman was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, police say.Police and a friend of the female victim say the three pedestrians were sleeping behind the bus stop with their belongings at the time of the crash. Jessica Nelson said she knew the 49-year-old woman and brought her some clothing and make-up earlier that day. She said she tried to convince her to go eat with friends, but the woman stayed with her husband, according to Nelson.Nelson said the pink bags strewn about the crash sight belonged to the victim, she called Kelly.Nelson said she met Kelly a year and a half ago at the bus stop where the accident took place. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - When school started last week at Dailard Elementary in San Carlos, the father of a second grade student noticed several large spiders and egg sacks in the area where kids hang their backpacks. He took several photos documenting the issue. When he reached out to 10News about a week later, he said he had already spoken to a teacher, custodian, and the principal about the issue but was told a work order would need to be put in to get pest control to the school. The same parent said the spiders appeared to be brown widows, which are venomous and a bite from one requires medical attention. A San Diego Unified School District spokesperson confirmed that a pest control team was sent to the school Thursday to get rid of the spiders and eggs. They also confirmed that the spiders were indeed brown widows, very common in the San Diego area. Despite the concerns, there were no reports of any children ever being bitten. 952

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Two people have been arrested for the fire that destroyed a Chase Bank during unrest in La Mesa last May.FBI San Diego said 19-year-old Alexander Jacob King and 33-year-old Ricky Bernard Cooper were arrested on Monday and charged with arson of a structure in connection with the bank fire. King was also charged with one count of looting and Cooper is facing four separate counts of looting related to various La Mesa businesses.On May 30, FBI investigators say the fire was set at the Chase Bank at 4791 Spring St., causing extensive damage to the building. Since the fire, investigators from La Mesa Police, San Diego Police, and the San Diego FBI have been piecing together evidence leading to Monday's arrests."While peaceful protest is a right protected by the U.S. Constitution and a time-honored tradition in our country, violent criminal activity, including arson and looting, will not be tolerated," the FBI said in a release announcing the arrests.Last May, demonstrators marched through the city and gathered outside of La Mesa Police Department to protest the arrest of an African American man by a white LMPD officer caught on video. The protest followed a week of demonstrations around the country stemming from the Memorial Day death of George Floyd while in police custody.Later that night, protests turned violent as rioters set several fires, and damaged and looted businesses. 1422
