FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Vice President Mike Pence will visit Arizona on Friday, Oct. 30, where he will speak at two "Make American Great Again" rallies in Flagstaff and Tucson, his campaign announced Wednesday.Pence is scheduled to speak at 2:30 p.m. ET at Flagstaff Pulliam Airport in Flagstaff and at 5:30 p.m. ET at Tucson International Airport in Tucson, according to a news release.Watch Pence's Flagstaff event below:President Donald Trump flew to Arizona on Wednesday – his seventh visit to the state – where he held a campaign rally at Bullhead City Airport. First Lady Melania Trump did not visit her husband, President Trump, over the weekend as he is getting treatment at Walter Reed Medical Center and has no plans to, according to multiple reports.A spokesperson for the first lady said she is remaining at the White House executive residence in quarantine after her own COVID-19 diagnosis early Friday morning."Melania is aware of the dangers of COVID-19," the official told CNN. "Potentially exposing others is not a risk she would take."In another response to the question of First Lady Trump visiting her husband at Walter Reed, an official said “that would expose the agents who would drive her there and the medical staff who would walk her up to him,” according to NBC News.The reaction from the First Lady is drawing a comparison to the president's reaction. On Sunday, President Trump and a few members of Secret Service, all wearing masks, drove around the Walter Reed facility to see supporters waiting outside. Monday morning, the First Lady tweeted she was “feeling good (and) will continue to rest at home.” 1075

TUESDAY'S PRIMARYWhile Tuesday's primary does not involve presidential politics in Florida, a number of races impacting the state legislature, Congress and local governments are taking place. HISTORY OF ISSUESFlorida's issues with elections goes all the way back to 1876. The presidential election was still undecided with Florida being unsure how to award its 4 Electoral College votes. Florida wasn't alone. South Carolina and Louisiana were also unsure. As a result, Congress had to step in and resolve the issue with Rutherford B. Hayes eventually becoming President. Most Americans know Florida because of the issues in 2000. With another presidential election hanging in the balance, Al Gore and George W. Bush battled for votes during a 36-day recount. Palm Beach County's butterfly ballot, with confusing placement of names for some voters, likely resulted in 2,800 votes for Pat Buchanan instead of Gore. "Hanging Chads" in the state became a household phrase nationwide to describe ballots with paper fragments still hanging from them. Ballots that year were hole punch style for many voters. Like in 2000 and 2016, Florida has long been an important state for nominees to win. It has helped choose the winning presidential candidate every election since 1992.RECENT ISSUESIssues in Florida's Elections have continued in recent years. In Broward County, nearly 1,000 uncounted ballots were found in a warehouse in 2012. In 2018, 22 ballots were counted that were supposed to be rejected. Fierce winds and lightening strikes created by a powerful dust storm have killed around 100 people in northwestern India since late Wednesday, according to local authorities.In the state of Rajasthan, at least 31 people died and around 120 people were injured after winds downed more than 8,000 electricity poles and uprooted hundreds of trees, Jaipur District Divisional Commissioner T Ravi Kant told CNN."This has resulted in widespread electricity cuts and water shortages. Most of the deaths occurred after walls and roofs of houses collapsed in the middle of the night," he said.In neighboring Uttar Pradesh, the death toll stood at at least 64, with the vast majority of those deaths occurring in the city of Agra, where so far 43 have been confirmed dead.According to Sanjay Kumar, the relief commissioner at the Uttar Pradesh state disaster management authority, the high casualty number is the result of people becoming trapped under falling debris. "Many houses collapsed due to high intensity winds, or the trees fell over onto the houses," said Kumar.According to CNN affiliate CNN News 18, the Uttar Pradesh state government has sounded an alert for the next 48 hours in anticipation of an increase in the numbers killed or injured in the storm.The Prime Minister's office said in a statement on Twitter that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was saddened by the loss of lives from the storm."(I) have asked officials to coordinate with the respective state governments and work towards assisting those who have been affected," Modi said in the statement.CNN Meteorologist Pedram Javaheri said India "is in the beginning stages of the onset of its annual summer monsoons.""Afternoon storms and periods of torrential rainfall have been more and more prevalent in this region over the past several weeks," he added.
