FORT WORTH, Texas — The Boeing 737 Max might be flying over the East Coast before year end.All Max jets around the world have been grounded since early 2019 after two deadly crashes.American Airlines says it plans to operate one Max flight a day from Dec. 29 through Jan. 4 between Miami and New York. American is still considering how much it will use the plane after that.The airline says it will begin selling the flights on Friday.Federal regulators are currently reviewing Boeing's changes to the plane. FORT PIERCE, Fla. - Residents in a Fort Pierce community on Hutchinson Island had a special surprise for Joseph Malizia.They gave the 22-year-old man with special needs a box full of flags Thursday to replace the ones that had been stolen from him recently."I love it. I love that they care about me," Malizia said when looked at the flags from all over the world packed in the box."The community wanted to show Joseph there are more good people," Heather Thomson said.Neighbors in the Mariner Bay community said they often see Malizia waving different flags at the beach and along State Road A1A and in the neighborhood.His father said Malizia took a liking to flags as a child while attending his brother and sister's surfing tournaments. Fifty years ago, civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stepped out onto a balcony by Room 306 at Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee, where he spoke to other hotel guests who were in the courtyard.At 6:01 p.m. that night — April 4, 1968 — he was killed by a gunshot. He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital and pronounced dead at 7:05 p.m.The night before his assassination, King preached at the Mason Temple, the world headquarters of the Church of God in Christ, saying to the audience, "We as a people will get to the Promised Land."A fugitive of the Missouri State Penitentiary, James Earl Ray, was captured in June 1968 and charged in MLK's assassination. He pleaded guilty, though in the decades that followed he tried to withdraw the plea and sought a jury trial. There was never a trial, and Ray died in prison in 1998 at age 70.It has been suggested, and is believed by the King family, that MLK was killed as a result of a government conspiracy that involved the Mafia and Memphis police, but it has never been proven in a court.
