EL CAJON, (KGTV) -- A jewelry store owner in El Cajon left with nearly nothing after thieves stole 0,000 worth of gold from him.Forever Fine Jewelry means everything to the owner. It's a sanctuary for his craft -- covered in silver and gold -- until thieves came in and took it away.The owner's daughter didn't want to show her face or give her name, but she walked 10News through surveillance video from February 28th.That's the day a group of nine people stole 0,000 worth of jewelry. Two of them were carrying babies."This group right here, the four people right here, are going to pull him all the way to this corner cause that’s the farthest away from the back room."Meanwhile, a woman in a black shirt and long skirt crawls on the floor to the safe in the back. For six minutes, cameras roll on her bragging everything in sight."She's getting all the bangles, she's getting all the earrings, chains, mostly the bangles, the bracelets the anklets," said the owner's daughter. She also took ,000 in cash."That’s the cash box and that’s where the detective was able to get her fingerprints as well. "The owner hit a panic button once he started getting suspicious but the alarm didn't go off.A family of immigrants who started with nothing -- now back to square one. EL CAJON (KGTV and wire reports) - El Cajon police are investigating the shooting death of a man that resulted following an argument along a busy street Thursday.Police said gunfire erupted in the 1400 block of East Main Street in El Cajon shortly before 9:30 a.m., about a mile west of Granite Hills High School.Witnesses told 10News that two men were arguing on the sidewalk when one man took out a gun and shot the victim. According to police, an initial investigation indicates that an off-duty security guard tried to stop either a vehicle burglary or a carjacking. At some point, the vehicle's owner got involved, shooting and killing the suspect, police say. The shooter stayed on scene and cooperated before being arrested. (KGTV) -- New video from a nearby business shows the moments before a driver plunged into a sinkhole in El Cajon.The images seeming to tell a different story than was released by El Cajon police earlier in the week.The incident happened late Monday night on Vernon Way and Johnson Avenue. A white car became almost completely submerged in a deep sinkhole after a water main break earlier in the evening. RELATED: Sinkhole forms at El Cajon intersection, swallows car At the time police said the driver, who wasn't injured, ended up there after going around a barricade.Ken Wingert's office has surveillance cameras pointed right at the street where it happened, so out of curiosity, he took a look and says the video paints a different story than the one he first heard. "I saw the video...no that's not true," Wingert told 10News. "The police officer actually went to her window, talked to her and the car pulled a u-turn and went into the sinkhole."After the car goes down, Wingert says the video gets even more interesting. The officers can be seen walking over, but it's how they did it that has him confused.  "Why were the police not reacting so fast once the car went into the pothole? All of a sudden when the car started sinking more everybody started running towards it," he said. "To me that was a little slow on that part."On Thursday 10News made multiple attempts to talk to El Cajon police about the video. We were told that there was no one available to comment. 1537

DIVIDE COUNTY, N.D. – A tight-knit community in North Dakota is proving that neighbors can still take care of one another.Tabitha Unhjem told The Washington Post that her father, Lane, was driving his combine harvester across his field of durum wheat, when the machine caught fire and the 57-year-old man went into cardiac arrest while trying to put it out.Lane was airlifted to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition, CBS News reports.Meanwhile, fellow farmers in Divide County soon heard what happened to Lane and halted their own harvesting, so they could help.The Post reports that nearly 60 neighbors showed up with their machinery on Sept. 12 to finish Lane’s harvest for him.By dividing and conquering, the neighbors harvested about 1,000 acres of wheat and canola in the span of nearly eight hours, The Post reports.One of the neighbors, Brad Sparks, told The Post that it would have taken Lane about two weeks to complete it on his own. 968

(KGTV) - An upset burglary victim says she didn't get emotional when she saw the surveillance video, until she heard what the intruders did.Just off Applewood Drive around 4 p.m. Sunday, Michele returned home from grocery shopping with her 7-year-old daughter."I saw the bedroom was in complete disarray, grabbed my daughter and said, 'Let's get out of the house right now,'" said Michele.Ring doorbell video shows what happened: three men cased the home, then approached and hopped over her fence. Moments later, the three bag-toting men ripped off the screen of a back window and climbed in.The sound of Michele's dog, a 10-year-old Miniature Schnauzer named Trixie, is heard barking and then there is another noise: a pained whimpering lasting more than five seconds."Something was done to her to cause her pain.  It brought me to more tears than knowing we'd been violated," said Michele.About half an hour later, two of the men are seen leaving through the window, swatting at and toppling a camera on the way out.They would make off with electronics, a handgun and dozens of pieces of jewelry, including some priceless family heirlooms. Also gone was Michele's diamond and platinum wedding ring set."There was sentimental value for sure," said Michele.But Michele says she's thankful Trixie wasn't hurt badly. She also says missing the burglars by minutes was a literal blessing because she had stopped at church for a few minutes before coming home. "Really blessed to have God's protection," said Michele.Michele posted the videos on the Neighbors by Ring app, in hopes of tracking down a trio of brazen burglars."They clearly knew what they were doing.
