SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Though there are still votes to be counted, data from the San Diego County Registrar of Voters is showing how residents voted on some of the most widely publicized races this midterm election.While the Registrar's data reports 100 percent of precincts, there are about 490,000 outstanding ballots waiting to be processed — so these numbers are not the county's official results.They do, however, show how San Diegans compare in statewide races.STATEThe race for governor was fairly close according to the data, with Democrat Gavin Newsom leading 53.87 percent to Republican John Cox's 46.13 percent.Cox conceded to Newsom late Tuesday after statewide numbers showed Newsom take the lead, winning 59 percent to 41 percent.RELATED: Nathan Fletcher, Jim Desmond win San Diego County Board of Supervisors seatsIn the race for U.S. Senator, San Diegans voted for Democrat Dianne Feinstein 53.6 percent to fellow Democrat Kevin De Leon's 46.4 percent. In California, Feinstein took about 56 percent of the vote.California's Attorney General race was squarely in the hands of Democrat Xavier Becerra in San Diego County, who gained 55.16 percent of the vote.LOCALAt a local level, the close races continued, with Democrat Mike Levin taking former Rep. Darrell Issa's 49th District seat with 56.86 percent of the vote.The race for the 50th District remained close as well, with Republican incumbent Duncan Hunter holding on over challenger Ammar Campa-Najjar with 53.94 percent of the vote in San Diego.PROPOSITIONSProposition 6, known as the gas tax repeal, took favor in San Diego County with 52.64 percent of the vote. Though statewide the prop failed, only gaining a 45 percent approval vote.The Daylight Saving Time measure, Proposition 7, also had fans in San Diego County with 68.55 percent approval. About 62 percent of statewide voters also shot down Proposition 10.San Diego County also stayed close to the statewide results on Proposition 12, establishing new standards for farm animals. The county saw a 59.15 percent approval of the prop, while it passed the state with about 61 percent of the vote.MEASURESThe most contentious measures in San Diego were perhaps Measure E and G, for the Mission Valley stadium site.Measure E, the SoccerCity proposal, faced a wall of disapproval with 69.57 percent of San Diego voters saying "no."Measure G, the SDSU West proposal, took in 54.55 percent approval from voters.RELATED: HEAT MAP: Registered voters in San Diego CountyMeasure W didn't win over National City voters, with 53.9 percent disapproval. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The unofficial start of summer is here in San Diego and that means it’s time to hit the beaches and enjoy some sunshine.Health officials are reminding residents that it’s also time to check the water quality before heading out.The County of San Diego’s Department of Environmental Health checks the water on a regular basis and posts that information online.Due to the need to warn residents if water quality is poor, the county developed the “Check Before You Get In” website.The site allows people to check water conditions at more than 80 local beaches. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — This New Year’s Day organ donor heroes will be honored on the Donate Life Rose Parade Float.One of those heroes is a Everardo Martinez, a San Diego father of three whose life was cut short by a fatal aneurysm. After Martinez passed, his wife Adriana worked closely with Lifesharing San Diego to donate his organs.“It’s comforting, it’s comforting to know my husband lives on through those recipients,” said Adriana. “I’m deeply honored my husband was able to transform their lives.”Everardo was able to save three lives with his selfless gift.His wife and children traveled to Irwindale to help decorate the Lifesharing float that will honor Everardo and 43 other organ donors. Adriana also spent eight hours on a floral portrait of her husband that will be featured on the float. “It’s an honor, a true honor to be able to honor my husband’s legacy and memory,” said Adriana. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The United States Postal Service is handling nearly 16 billion deliveries this holiday season, a record number.Warren Burton, a program manager at the USPS, says it is a 12 percent increase from last year.“There’s a lot of online shopping,” he said, “a lot more than last year.” As a result, the USPS processing and distribution center at Carmel Mountain Ranch in San Diego added more seasonal workers. About 1,100 people are working around the clock up from the normal staffing of close to 900.“We gear up all year for this time of the year, we know it’s going to be non-stop, high volume-high demand,” Burton added.The White House declared Christmas Eve a federal holiday this year, but Burton says that USPS will remain open on Christmas Eve.“We greatly appreciate the gesture, but we’re going to keep working so we can keep the mail going,” Burton said.He says Dec. 20 is the last day to mail out a package or holiday card to make sure it is delivered by Christmas Day using regular shipping.
