SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) -- Cell phone video reportedly taken Wednesday morning shows San Diego County Sheriff's deputies at a San Marcos home that's been at the center of an ongoing battle. When Team10 arrived, there was an eviction resolution notice taped to a window on the property. Neighbors tell us that they're thrilled the eviction process is finally underway. This is a story that Team10 has been following since May - when we spoke with a local hopeful home buyer, John Masnica. He says Julie Frisino and her family unlawfully moved into the house while Masnica was in the process of closing escrow on the bank-owned foreclosure. Wednesday, he told us, "She's just a deadbeat from a family of deadbeats that take advantage of the system." He went on to say, "I hope that now that they're out of this house that there aren't any other available houses for them to try to break into."Frisino took the situation to court, claiming she had rights to be there. This summer, a judge said the bank trustee, not Frisino, had rights to the home.Masnica and his wife are due with their fourth child. SAN YSIDRO, Calif. - Customs and Border Protection officials tweeted thermal camera video Friday of men climbing the U.S.-Mexico border fence and damaging the concertina wire.The video was recorded by U.S. Border Patrol cameras placed near Border Field State Park in Imperial Beach, opposite from where migrants have been gathering as more members of the Central American caravan arrive in Tijuana.There was no word on whether the incident captured on video led to an arrest.“All seeking to enter the U.S. are urged to do so at one of more than 320 official U.S. Ports of Entry,” Customs and Border Protection officials wrote in the tweet.  663

SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. — Authorities are asking people to be on alert after a man in a white SUV attempted to lure a 10-year-old girl in San Tan Valley, Arizona on Wednesday. According to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, shortly before 4 p.m., a 10-year-old girl was walking with a friend near a park in the North Pecan Creek neighborhood when a man driving a white SUV pulled up next to them.The man reportedly told the girl that her brothers were in a serious accident and that she needed to go with him. The girl then asked the man what the "code word" was, but the man did not know and drove off."Kudos to the parents of this child for having a code word and talking about to their children about stranger danger," said Sheriff Mark Lamb. "We hope by putting this out, it will encourage parents to have that conversation and create a plan with their children, so they know what to do if they are in that situation."The SUV has been reportedly seen circling the park several times a day, according to children who live in the neighborhood. “This is generally what I consider a pretty safe area, I’ve never heard of anything bad,” said Patrick McDonald, who lives nearby.“This one time, it saved my daughters life,” said Brenda James, the girl’s mother.James talked to KNXV and the media so that other parents could learn about code words as she did.“We actually just came up that few months ago. So it was something really recent from a story that I read,” James said.The man is described as being possibly in his 40s with a short beard. Say goodbye to another 40 Sears and Kmart stores.Sears Holdings (SHLD), the bankrupt parent company of the two retailers, said Thursday that 11 Kmart locations and 29 Sears stores will close their doors in February 2019 — adding to the nearly 200?locations the company has already said will shut down in coming months.The closures are part of Sears Holdings' efforts to drastically reduce costs and find a viable way forward as it moves through bankruptcy proceedings. The company has?been struggling for several years and is drowning in debt.Liquidation sales at the 40 locations "are expected to begin late next week," the company said.Sears Holdings operated about 1,000 stores as recently as February but has been shuttering underperforming stores. When the company filed for bankruptcy last month, it said it only had about 400 stores that could turn a profit. Now, it's in the process of shedding more dead weight.In its bankruptcy filing, Sears named 142 of its worst-performing stores that would shut down in the coming months. That's still allowed.The San Francisco Chronicle reports the Board of Supervisors voted 10-1 Tuesday to approve the ordinance making San Francisco the largest city in the country to ban tobacco smoking inside apartments.The original proposal sought to ban residents from smoking marijuana in their apartments. But supervisors voted to exclude marijuana after cannabis activists said the law would take away their only legal place to smoke.It's illegal under state law to smoke cannabis in public places. 669
