A political action committee is putting up a billboard in a strategic place for President Trump to see when he visits Mar-a-Lago.The message will say: “Impeachment Now, Make America America Again!”According to Mad Dog PAC, they are installing the billboard along East Shannondale Road. This location is near Palm Beach International Airport and Southern Boulevard, a route the president frequently takes during his trips to the "Winter White House."According to the PAC's website, the group says the "Impeachment Now" billboard will be up from March 19 to April 15.This isn't the only one of its kind going up in the United States, Mad Dog PAC's website says they currently have other "Impeachment Now" billboards already up in Ohio, Virginia, Pennsylvania. One in California was on public display from Feb. 5 to March 4, says the PAC's site. The left-wing group has other politically-motivated billboards placed across the country for the 2018 mid-term elections that target Republicans. 1015
A recent study published Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine suggests that antibodies might protect people who've already had COVID-19 from being reinfected for at least six months.Researchers looked at 12,541 healthcare workers at Oxford University Hospitals in the United Kingdom and were followed for up to 31 weeks. In the study, researchers investigated the incidences of COVID-19 infection by conducting polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests on the healthcare workers who had tested positive and negative, including both symptomatic and asymptomatic cases. The study results showed that 11,364 did not have antibody levels, and 1,265 had positive results, which also included 88 healthcare workers in whom seroconversion occurred during follow-up. A total of 223 anti-spike–negative health care workers had a positive PCR test (1.09 per 10,000 days at risk), up to 100 during screening were found to be asymptomatic, and 123 were to have symptoms, the study found.Researchers said that individuals who had anti-spike antibodies had no symptomatic infections. 1083
A north Georgia high school teacher was arrested on Wednesday after he barricaded himself in a classroom and fired a shot from his handgun out of a window, police said.No one was injured in the incident at Dalton High School, except for a student who injured an ankle running through the school, police spokesman Bruce Frazier said. The shooting about 85 miles north of Atlanta heightened the already tense debate around guns in schools in the wake of the deadly mass shooting in Parkland, Florida two weeks ago.The incident began about 11:30 a.m. when Randal Davidson, a 53-year-old social studies teacher, refused to let students into his classroom, Frazier said. When the principal put a key in the door in an attempt to enter, Davidson fired a shot from a handgun through an exterior window of the classroom, according to Frazier. The school immediately went into lockdown, and police quickly arrived and evacuated the immediate area around his classroom. After about 30 to 45 minutes, Davidson agreed to surrender to authorities and was taken into custody without further incident, Frazier said.Frazier said there was no evidence that Davidson was trying to fire at anyone."It certainly seemed like he didn't have any intention to harm anybody else," Frazier said.Davidson had been a teacher at Dalton since 2004 and was the play-by-play radio announcer for the high school's football team, Frazier said. Police did not release any explanation as to a possible reason for what happened.President Donald Trump and the National Rifle Association, among others, have proposed that teachers should be allowed to bring firearms into schools to defend against possible attacks. But critics have said arming teachers would create a host of other dangerous side effects -- and pointed to the Dalton shooting as Exhibit A in that argument.The-CNN-Wire? & ? 2018 Cable News Network, Inc., a Time Warner Company. A pedestrian bridge suddenly collapsed onto the road below near Florida International University, crushing cars and killing at least six people Thursday.Hours after the bridge collapsed, officials said early Friday that the rescue mission is now a recovery operation.Emergency crews worked overnight in what Miami-Dade Police spokesman Alvaro Zavaleta called a "very slow process" in order to preserve evidence and the safety of possible victims and rescuers, because of unstable conditions at the bridge. At least nine people were transported to hospitals for treatment, authorities said.Witnesses described hearing a loud boom Thursday and moments later, finding victims, including construction workers across the wreckage and people trapped in cars.Senator Marco Rubio, who visited the site Thursday, posted on Twitter: "The cables that suspend the #Miami bridge had loosened & the engineering firm ordered that they be tightened. They were being tightened when it collapsed today." Rubio has been a visiting professor at the university for the past 10 years. The bridge's main span, which weighs 950 ton, had just been installed Saturday over eight lanes, near the university in Miami. 1205
