The Justice Department sued Google in October, saying it has abused its dominance in online search and advertising. Rocky, the owl recently rescued from the Rockefeller Christmas Tree, was released into the wild on Tuesday, completing a long journey that started from the world’s most famous Christmas tree.The Ravensbeard Wildlife Center showed video of Rocky’s majestic release into the wild on its Facebook page. The center is located about 100 miles north of New York City.The wildlife center said it released Rocky shortly before nightfall so the owl could find safe harbor for the night. It is believed that Rocky will join other owls in the region and head south for the winter.“She is a tough little bird and we're happy to see her back in her natural habitat. We are sure that Rocky will feel your love and support through her journey south,” the Ravensbeard Wildlife Center said in a Facebook post.It is believed that Rocky made the 170-mile trek with the tree. Gavin Newsom has signed a law intended to counter Trump administration plans to increase oil and gas production on protected public land.The measure bars any California leasing authority from allowing pipelines or other oil and gas infrastructure to be built on state property. It makes it difficult for drilling to occur since federally protected areas are adjacent to state owned land.It's one of several new laws enacted by the governor on Saturday.Newsom also signed a law which renames the California agency that regulates the oil and gas industry. Language in the measure states the mission of the newly-christened Geologic Energy Management Division includes protecting public health and environmental quality.The governor in July fired the agency's head over an increase in state permits for hydraulic fracturing. 871

The figure is 45 percent higher than five years ago.Health officials are particularly concerned by the hike because 30 women had stillbirths due to congenital syphilis, the highest number since 1995.STDs can cause serious health problems if untreated. Syphilis can cause permanent loss of hearing, vision and neurological issues. Chlamydia and gonorrhea can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease and infertility, ectopic pregnancy and chronic pelvic pain."STDs are preventable by consistently using condoms, and many STDs can be cured with antibiotics," said CDPH Director and State Public Health Officer Dr. Karen Smith. "Regular testing and treatment are very important for people who are sexually active, even for people who have no symptoms. Most people infected with an STD do not know it."Chlamydia and gonorrhea rates are highest among people under age 30, health officials said. (KGTV) - An elementary school in Riverside was evacuated Tuesday after reports of a parent barricaded in a classroom.Police say the 70-year-old teacher being held inside the classroom was rescued and taken to the hospital to be checked out. According to police, the suspect was injured during an officer-involved shooting and was taken to the hospital. Police have an update in a press conference following the incident:??????? KABC in Los Angeles reported the incident happened at about 11 a.m. at Castle View Elementary School. 575
