INDIANTOWN, Fla. — Heartbreaking new details are coming to light about the deadly shooting of a mother in front of her six children on Tuesday.According to Martin County, Florida, Sheriff William Snyder, Maribel Rosado Morales, 32, was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend, Donald Williams, 27, inside a home.The sheriff said six children, ranging in age from 9 to 17, were inside the home at the time of the shooting."We think most of the children in the home saw it," Snyder said at a news conference on Tuesday.On Wednesday, WPTV spoke to Morales' fiancé and brother, both of who did not want to be identified. They confirmed that all six children are Morales' and she was keeping them home from school because of the COVID-19 pandemic."She was a strong person. She was a loving person," said Morales' brother.Morales' fiancé said he was on the phone with her when the shooting happened, and he could hear the children yelling that their mother had been shot.The fiancé said that after Morales was hit, she barricaded herself inside a closet for her safety and so her children wouldn't see."I was on the phone with her. I said, 'baby, call the police,'" Morales' fiancé said. "Why? She didn’t do nothing. Why? She didn’t deserve it. I wasn’t there to save her. I wasn’t there."Sheriff Snyder said at least one of the children was doing virtual learning during the first day of school in Martin County when the gunfire rang out."[The teacher] did hear some high tone conversation, noticed some kind of confrontation, muted it, and then watched the [child] put her hands up to her ears," Sheriff Snyder said.On Wednesday, Morales' family members said the child on the class call at the time is 9 years old and has Down syndrome.Williams was taken into custody not long after the shooting while trying to board a public transportation bus.“I have hatred. Yeah, I’m not going to lie, I want to do 1,000 things to him. But you know what? I forgive him, man. I forgive him and he’ll have his day," Morales' fiancé said. Instead they are dealing with the aftermath of high wind; downed trees and branches.The sound of saws cutting through bark will become a familiar one in the next few days, as people try to get rid of the trees uprooted by Irma.Nancy Callahan might not be excited about the work, but would choose it over a different outcome.“My son and his three-year-old and his friend were up in the attic space which is a big big room and bathroom,” Callahan explains. “And if it had gone across the house they could've been killed.”Just a few streets away, another tree fell taking the street's power along with it. “Well I was sure glad the tree felt that way and not the other way,” says Domenic Massari who rode out the storm across the street.The tree barely missed Marcy Mixon’s home.“There was a horrible explosion two of them,” Mixon remembers. “And I knew that the cable box was hit, the tree came down and the whole house shook.”It wasn’t just trees we saw in places they shouldn’t be. Hollowell said someone turned it into him and that he then had to turn it into the archbishop."I was hurt, sad, I was hurt," said Fitzgerald. "I've been there 15 years. I've been a part of a community that loves each other. INDIANAPOLIS -- A fill-up at an Indianapolis gas station turned out to cost an Indiana man more than 0 after the fuel was contaminated with water.Steve Schwartz usually heads out with a full gas tank. But one day, he noticed he was running on empty. So he pulled over to the Citgo in Indianapolis. With more than 16 gallons of fuel, he was good -- for about a mile. "After I put the gas in the car, all the lights on the dash went on and the car started to shutter," Schwartz said. He took his 2005 Lexus to be checked out. A techncian took a gasoline sample and noted "mostly water found inside the gas tank. Drained out bad fuel."The .50 he first spent at the gas pump led to a repair bill of 0. "I went to the owner several times and admitted there was a gas contamination problem and he told me would make an insurance claim and have them contact me the following day."But the call from the insurance company never came.
