RANCHO SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The boyfriend of a missing woman refused to take a polygraph test Monday - on the same day Arizona police arrested him for identity theft and forgery. Kiera Bergman was living in Phoenix when she went missing two weeks ago, but the 19-year-old grew up in San Diego. Monday night her father agreed to speak with 10News Anchor Ariel Wesler about the desperate search for Bergman. Bergman graduated from Valhalla High School in 2017. (AP) — California authorities have returned a pet tortoise to its owner after the wandering animal was spotted in another resident's backyard.The Record Searchlight reported the 41-year-old tortoise named Dino ambled away after a storm blew open the latch on its outdoor enclosure in Red Bluff.An animal regulation officer says the tortoise was found about a half-mile (0.8 kilometers) from the home of owner Cindy Haase.Authorities used watermelon to lure the 150-pound (68-kilogram) tortoise before lifting it into a vehicle for transport.Tehama County sheriff's deputies and the state forestry and fire protection department helped return Dino to Haase.Tortoise Acres Rescue and Sanctuary owner Katie Hoffman says this is breeding season and roaming pet tortoises seeking companionship are "a daily occurrence this time of year." 856

RAMONA, Calif. (KGTV) - The young man found shot to death in a Ramona home was identified by his roommate Monday as a resident of Ukraine.San Diego County Sheriff's deputies got a 911 call reporting Sunday at 8 p.m. reporting shots fired near the home on Wood Rock Lane. They found the victim dead inside.Four people live in the home, including Ben Ledbetter. He said the victim, a 20-year-old man, worked for Ledbetter's mobile detailing business for four years. Ledbetter believes he is being targeted and said someone killed his best friend out of anger."He's 100 percent good.  His heart is strong, his will is strong.  His attitude was positive.  You couldn't kill a better person.  He was the best person you could ever know," Ledbetter said.The victim's name is being withheld until his family can be notified.Deputies shut down the area near the home until 1 p.m. Monday to search for evidence. Ledbetter told 10News that detectives took his phone, truck and clothes as part of the investigation.Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact sheriff’s Homicide Detail at 858-974-2321 or 858-565-5200.   1182
