(KGTV) - The holiday blockbuster season is upon us and Warner Bros' is hoping their long-awaited "Justice League" movie knocks out the competition.But judging by the reception so far, DC Comics' favorite heroes may face an uphill battle with critics.As the movie's release near theaters across the country, reviews have started to pour in ranging from excitement to tempered satisfaction to complete disgust.RELATED: 'Wonder Woman 2' will be released six weeks ahead of scheduleWhat's is about?"Justice League" sees heroes of the DC Comics world team up to take on a world-ending threat from Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons - who are hunting for three "Mother Boxes" hidden across the globe. In the wake of Superman's death, Bruce Wayne (Batman) sees this threat on the horizon. Alongside Diana Prince (Wonder Woman), the pair seeks to enlist the help of three other superhumans to put an end to Steppenwolf's ambitions.Critics' response..The Hollywood Reporter's Todd McCarthy was one of those who found themselves letdown - completely.McCarthy called the movie a "chore," adding, "the virtually humor-free script by Chris Terrio and Joss Whedon (who was brought on to complete directing duties after Zack Snyder had to leave for family reasons) less resembles deft narrative scene-setting than it does the work of a bored casino dealer rotely distributing cards around a table."The Guardian's Peter Bradshaw echoed that same distaste, calling out the film's post-credit scenes (of which there are two) and saying, "the great revelation is very laborious and solemn and the tiresome post-credits sting is a microcosm of the film’s disappointment."RELATED: Fans cheer for Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot at Justice League San Diego Comic-Con appearanceBut not everyone was completely disappointed after the credits rolled. From Polygon writer Julia Alexander: "Justice League is a rare, anomalous jewel that pops up every few years in cinema: It can’t be described as a good movie, but it’s enjoyable at times to sit through."Though most reviews tried to establish the thoughts likely to run through movie-goers' heads: Is it better than the other DCU movies?"It’s not good, per se, and it’s definitely not 'Wonder Woman.' A 16-year-old Indiana high school football player confessed to fatally stabbing a pregnant schoolmate after she waited too long to tell him about the pregnancy to get an abortion, according to court papers.Aaron Trejo, a member of the Mishawaka High School football team, was charged Monday with murder and feticide in the death of Breana Rouhselang on Saturday. The 17-year-old junior and cheerleader at the school east of South Bend was six months pregnant, her mother told police, according to an affidavit. An autopsy confirmed the pregnancy.Trejo told authorities he was aware of Breana's pregnancy and that he was alleged to be the father, the affidavit said, but he said neither wanted to have the baby. He said the two fought about the child before he stabbed Breana in the heart with a knife on Saturday, according to the affidavit. He then put a black plastic bag over her, put her body in a dumpster, and threw her phone and the knife in a river, court papers said."I took action ... I took her life," he said, when asked by authorities what he did when he learned she had waited too long to get an abortion by the time she told him of the pregnancy, according to the affidavit.Trejo told authorities "he had been planning and thinking about killing Breana and the baby for about a week and had not told anybody," according to the affidavit.An autopsy revealed that Breana died from multiple stab wounds and was choked with her scarf, the affidavit said.Trejo, who is being held without bond, is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday. CNN was unable to reach the Trejo family on Monday. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit Assistant Commander Lt. Alex Arendt told reporters that the Rouhselang family had contacted the Mishawaka Police Department about 4:30 a.m. Sunday to report her missing after last seeing her at home around midnight."Upon their arrival and a search of the area they found evidence of a possible violent crime," Arendt said.Police later found her body in a dumpster behind a business, Arendt said. A black plastic bag had been placed over her head and upper torso, according to court papers.Trejo initially told police he contacted Breana for the first time in months to see how she was coping with the pregnancy. Sheli Riley has received emails from Capstone Management Company offering options to students like her daughter Kristin. "Everyone's gone. Everyone's home," says Kristin, as she and her mom made plans Saturday to pack up the apartment she shares with four friends. Saturday was the deadline for students in on-campus housing to move out. The normally bustling campus was mostly quiet. Sheli lamented the challenges for college students whose semesters have come to an abrupt halt. "You're in this great time of your life, loving every aspect of living there. All of a sudden you came home for the weekend and now it's over, she says." Sheli shared emails with 10News outlining the options they were given by the management company, which owns and operates the M@College apartments. According to the email, students can move out by April 1st and receive a small credit toward their leases. If the student finds someone to sublet, they receive an additional credit. Students are still responsible through the end of July, or the end of their lease term. Alternatively, if students choose to stay on campus, they receive a discount on rent, but the company may sublet the additional rooms of these shared apartments, which presents parents like Sheli with safety concerns. She would like to see the university intervene. SDSU sent 10News a statement saying in part, "these apartments are privately owned an operated," despite being on SDSU's campus. Capstone management also sent a statement, saying in part that they are working with the university to offer options to students.
