Travis Reinking was arrested and charged with four counts of criminal homicide in the Waffle House mass shooting in Tennessee. His bond was set for million, but many were outraged by the fact that he was even given a bond.According to Nashville attorney David Raybin, under Tennessee law, every criminal suspect, except those in death penalty cases, are entitled to a bond.Prosecutors could still decide to seek the death penalty against Reinking, but that decision is a long way off from being made.It is possible that someone either Reinking or his family could post the 10 percent or 0,000 with a bonding company and he could walk out of jail.However, Raybin made it clear there is no way Reinking will get out on bond.In the unlikely event the suspect makes bond, then several things could and would happen. The district attorney could immediately request a hearing to increase the bond to or million.The district attorney could also ask the judge to put very onerous conditions on the bond such as house arrest, an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet, 24-hour supervision, etc.More Stories:  1162

This summer, Uncharted decided to put it to the test.CEO Banks Benitez says he started looking into it in 2019. He brought it to his executive board, and they decided it was something they were going to implement in 2020. Then, COVID-19 happened."So, we asked this question, 'Do we need to be working like crazy hours right now or do we need to really think about how we care for the mental health of our team and give people some space?'" said Benitez.This summer, they launched an experiment, hiring a third-party company to evaluate the efficacy of the experiment. The team worked Monday through Thursday, taking every Friday off. The hours were not made up throughout the week. The team worked four 8-hour workdays.They looked at three main things: performance, culture, and mental health."Performance stayed the same and was constant over the course of the experiment compared to previous performance," said Benitez.Culture, he says, slightly improved at the Denver-based company. People felt just as or a little more connected to members on their team.Lastly, to no surprise, mental health improved."I know that our best work comes when our team is healthy when our team is mentally healthy, when our team is aligned and in touch with each other," said Benitez.Benitez says there’s a different mentality that his employees bring in when they have a four-day workweek. They’re more focused and clearer about priorities. However, there are some downfalls"There’s a little bit less buffer time to kind of just go with the wind. You have to be really thoughtful about how you structure your time. And of course, the benefit of that is, Fridays are off," said Benitez.That helps lead to more downtime and time to refresh before starting the work grind again Monday morning."How do we situate Uncharted within the broader life that they’re living, [whether] that’s family, kids, adventures, travel, all that stuff. And if we can do that, I think the team will come back and perform better," said Benitez. 2153

To Cristal Franklin, she was so much more.“I saw her as my aunt. The one who cooked dinner for my roommate from college when I came home.  The one who bought the best gifts on earth for Christmas and birthdays,” Franklin said.Franklin says she visited her aunt in the days before she died, hoping for a miracle, but knowing her time would likely be short  She got word she had passed as she left town.“We were taking my daughter to college when we got the news. I made it on the plane. When the door closed, I lost it,” said Cristal.She drove by the Charles H Wright Museum of African American History the night before the public visitation and saw already overwhelming crowds. In her grief, she decided to take food to those first in line and learn about what her aunt meant to them.Cristal, a clothing designer, known as CFranks, decided to make a shirt that listed he aunt's accomplishments.“I want people to know she was more than a singer,” Franklin said. “She was a civil rights activist.”“I want people to listen to the old songs and play them for their children," she said.She shared memories of her aunt helping students pay for college, seeing families lose their belongings in a fire and responding, helping activists get out of prison, and paying for funerals of those in need.“It is overwhelming because she is our aunt,” Franklin said.Cristal is hoping people learn about her aunt through her creation. You can find it here. 1531

There were 10 people shot and killed in Friday's shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas. At least 10 others were wounded.So far, two victims have been publicly identified: a substitute teacher and an exchange student from Pakistan.Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt has offered to pay for the funerals of the victims, according to a Houston Texans spokeswoman.Here's what we know about those who died:Cynthia TisdaleCynthia Tisdale was a substitute teacher at Santa Fe High School, her family told CNN. Her niece, Leia Olinde, said the family was notified of her death Friday night.Tisdale's brother-in-law, John Tisdale, said in a Facebook post Friday night that she was a member of the Anchor Bible Baptist Church in Pharr, Texas.John Tisdale also said in his post that his sister-in-law's husband, William Recie Tisdale, is "in bad health with a terminal lung disease." The couple has four children.Cynthia Tisdale's son, Recie Tisdale, told The Washington Post that his mother loved children and teaching."She started substitute teaching because she loved to help children," he told the newspaper. "She didn't have to do it. She did it because she loved it."Recie Tisdale is a police detective in League City, which is 10 miles away from Santa Fe, where the shooting took place.Sabika SheikhThe Embassy of Pakistan in Washington confirmed on Facebook that Sabika Sheikh, an exchange student, was killed in Friday's shooting."Ms. Sheikh was in Texas as part of the Youth Exchange & Study (YES) Programme," the embassy said in a statement to CNN. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Sabika's family and friends. Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry spoke to the father of Sabika Sheikh expressing heartfelt condolences over the tragic death of his daughter."Abdul Aziz, Sabika's father, told AFP in Pakistan that he learned of his 17-year-old daughter's death on CNN."We are still in a state of denial," he said. "It is like a nightmare. ...There is a general impression that the life is safe and secure in America.
