MANILA, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- China wishes the coming Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting to be held in the Philippines a success and is willing to offer the rotating host necessary support, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said here on Tuesday.
Last year, APEC members endorsed a roadmap for promoting the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP) process at the APEC meeting in Beijing.
The Chinese leader added that China stands ready to maintain communication and coordination with Comoros in major global and regional issues such as climate change, 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Indian Ocean Rim issues, so as to jointly safeguard the interests of the developing countries.
Earlier Friday, the two-day summit was kicked off with a widely-watched speech made by the Chinese president.
Over the past three decades some 700 million rural residents across China shook off poverty. China was the first developing country to meet the Millennium Development Goals target of reducing the population living in poverty by half ahead of the 2015 deadline.
