In the coming weeks and months, several coronavirus vaccines will begin making their way to our cities in a hope to curtail the spread of a virus that has put a halt on our everyday lives and filled the nation's hospital rooms.Yasir Batalvi, 24, signed up for one of these trials and was among the first Americans to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. The Boston-area resident was among those who participated in Moderna’s coronavirus vaccine trial.Moderna’s vaccine has been hailed as a medical breakthrough. The vaccine has been considered 94.1% effective against the virus. According to Moderna, none of the thousands who were given two shots of the vaccine had severe COVID-19 symptoms. That is compared to 30 patients who were given a placebo who had symptoms. While the vaccine could nearly eliminate the number of hospitalizations and deaths associated with the virus, the shot might result in some symptoms."I actually had some pretty significant symptoms after I got the second dose. Once I got the second dose, I was fine while I was in the hospital. But that evening was rough. I mean, I developed a low-grade fever, and fatigue and chills," Batalvi told CNN.But by the next day, Batalvi said he felt “ready to go.”In an interview with CNN last week, Operation Warp Speed chief scientific adviser Moncef Slaoui said that 10 to 15% of those immunized had noticeable side effects.“Most people will have much less noticeable side effects. That frankly -- in comparison to a 95% protection against an infection that can be deadly or significantly debilitating -- I think is an appropriate balance," he told CNN.Batalvi was entered in a double blind trial, meaning he doesn’t know if he was given a placebo or the actual vaccine."I hope once this vaccine comes out, people feel confident taking it. I mean, I'm right here: I took the vaccine -- it was all right. I think we can get through this," he told CNN.In order to obtain an emergency use authorization, the FDA will weigh the vaccine’s benefits against possible side effects. 2049

INDIANAPOLIS -- A fill-up at an Indianapolis gas station turned out to cost an Indiana man more than 0 after the fuel was contaminated with water.Steve Schwartz usually heads out with a full gas tank. But one day, he noticed he was running on empty. So he pulled over to the Citgo in Indianapolis. With more than 16 gallons of fuel, he was good -- for about a mile. "After I put the gas in the car, all the lights on the dash went on and the car started to shutter," Schwartz said. He took his 2005 Lexus to be checked out. A techncian took a gasoline sample and noted "mostly water found inside the gas tank. Drained out bad fuel."The .50 he first spent at the gas pump led to a repair bill of 0. "I went to the owner several times and admitted there was a gas contamination problem and he told me would make an insurance claim and have them contact me the following day."But the call from the insurance company never came. RTV6 reached out to the owner of MH Oil Inc., and a check for the full reimbursement was issued. If something like this happens to you, report the problem to the state's Weights and Measures Division.  1176

INDIANAPOLIS -- If you owned one of the original PlayStation 3 “phat” consoles that were released back in 2006, you may be owed some money.PCMag.com reports that the original PS3 console – or the “phat” PS3 had the ability to install an alternative operating system but when the smaller “slim” model was released, the operating system functionality was removed because of security concerns. Those changes resulted in a class action lawsuit which dragged on until a settlement was reached in 2016 allowing PS3 owners to claim – but time’s almost up.Anyone who owns a “phat” PS3 still has until April 15 to submit the claim form. To file a claim, a person must have purchased their PS3 from an “authorized retailer” and include their PSN username and PS3 serial number. The offer is only good for 20GB, 40GB, 60GB and 80GB models. To submit your claim click here. 881

It's been nearly 20 years since "Home Improvement" went off the air, but a new report indicates the show may be coming back for a reboot. One of the stars of the show, Richard Karn, told Closer Weekly that he spoke with Tim Allen about the show."I just talked to (Tim Allen) about it," Karn told Closer. "And I think (Pat Richardson) and the kids would be on board."The news comes after the successful reboots of shows like "Roseanne" and "Will and Grace."In March, Allen told Entertainment Tonight that the idea for a "Home Improvement" reboot idea has been floated around. He also said he would be on board with getting the gang back together."I like that idea. I still miss 'Last Man Standing.' We didn't get our seventh year. I adored that show," he told ET. "It's like having a new dog and now to go back to the old dog? I don't know. I like both characters, but yeah, I'd be very interested in that idea."Allen played Tim Taylor on the ABC sitcom which ran from 1991 to 1999. 988

Incredible video captured by researchers at Florida Atlantic University captured the blacktip shark's annual migration off Florida’s southeast coast.FAU researchers refer to the blacktip shark's as the "snowbirds of the sea". The sharks migrate south during the cold months and head up north when the weather, and water, start to warm back up. They leave the north when water temperatures drop below 71 degrees Fahrenheit and start heading south. The video was taken by FAU researchers on February 27, right off MacArthur Park in Singer Island.“Last year, we saw a dramatic decline in the number of blacktip sharks that migrated south. In fact, it was so low that we estimated the population to be about one-third of what we have seen in previous years,” said Kajiura, a professor in the Department of Biological Sciences and director of the Elasmobranch Research Laboratory in FAU’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Science. “We want to make sure that these snowbirds come back to South Florida, because if they don’t, it will have a huge ecological impact in this region.”  According to researchers, this year's video off of  MacArthur Park in Singer Island shows dramatically fewer blacktip sharks during migration season as compared to video footage from previous years.       Mary Stringini is a Digital Reporter for ABC Action News.
