SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A 14-year-old teen has been arrested and charged with a hate crime after punching a Rabbi near a University City synagogue, police say.San Diego Police said Rabbi Yonatan Halevy, of the Shiviti Congregation, was walking near the synagogue located near 3200 Governor Drive on Oct. 10, when he was punched by the teenager. The teen reportedly yelled racial slurs during the attack and fled the location, police added. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A driver struck a fire hydrant outside San Diego International Airport Saturday, causing water to rocket into the sky outside Terminal 2 and headaches inside the airport.Terminal 2's East entrance on West Harbor Drive was temporarily closed after the driver struck the hydrant along the terminal's departure lanes around 10:40 a.m. Airport officials also closed Terminal 2 East's concessions and directed all traffic through Terminal 1.At one point, vehicles backed up onto Harbor Dr. as drivers encountered the closure caused by the geyser, according to a witness. Fire crews worked feverishly for about two hours, as gallons of water and kicked up rocks showered them below, before the water was turned off around 12:35 p.m. 753
SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A grand jury indicted two San Diego men Thursday on suspicion of blowing up ATM’s in Kearny Mesa and Miramar.Chad Engel, 46, and Scott Petri, 47, were charged with five counts including using explosives for the crimes and conspiracy to commit bank robbery.The first robbery happened July 4, 2017, at the California Coast Credit Union branch ATM on Ruffin Rd. The explosives went off but the ATM was not breached.RELATED: Explosives used in ATM robberiesThe second robbery was on August 13, 2017, at the Chevron gas station on Miramar Rd. Investigators said Engel and Petri drilled a hole in the ATM, filled it with gas, and ignited a fuse. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Clairemont woman says she came home to a break-in and heartbreak.On Friday afternoon at the Balboa Arms condos, Terri Harrison's adult daughter discovered a ransacked home.The intruder likely ripped a window screen before reaching in and unlocking the window.Missing from a bedroom was her daughter's laptop. In the master bedroom, a lock box was emptied of personal documents and some six pieces of jewelry, including a set of pearls belonging to her mom.Both her mother and father passed away two year ago."You wear something that's hers, you feel like she's close to you again ... So that's really hard.
