The video, captured by a Ring security camera, shows the bear sneaking up to the home in Naples Florida. The bear knocks over some Christmas decorations before walking up to the door and ringing the doorbell. The bear finally walks off after being yelled at by the family. The homeowner says nothing was damaged, but a snowman decoration did lose its head. 498

NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A lawsuit was filed Wednesday against National City over the death of a man who died in police custody. The lawsuit, filed by the family of Earl McNeil, names National City as well as several officers and deputies. McNeil showed up at the National City Police Department in 2018 seeking help. RELATED: No criminal charges to be filed in National City Police custody death of Earl McNeilPolice say he made threats and admitted he had drugs. McNeil died in jail from a heart attack. According to the medical examiner, McNeil had high levels of methamphetamine in his system when he died. The lawsuit claims officers used excessive force and failed to give him proper medical care. MSAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Mayor Kevin Faulconer announced Monday that the city has repaired 655 miles of roads so far, which is ahead of schedule to meet the goal of 1,000 miles of roads by 2020.Averaging more than 300 miles per year puts the city ahead of schedule, even as a small percentage of repairs has required taking the roads down to the dirt.RELATED: San Diego County approves million road resurfacing project“The unprecedented investment we’ve made in road repair is showing results with more smooth streets in our neighborhoods,” Mayor Faulconer said. “There’s still a lot more work that needs to be done, but we’re making significant progress on an issue that is a top concern for so many residents.”Within the first two fiscal years of the pledge, the city fixed 595 miles of roads. (KGTV) — University City neighbors are concerned with the F-35 coming to MCAS Miramar, saying it will be noisier and less safe.Tuesday night, a post on Nextdoor lit up talking about a fighter jet buzzing homes."When I hear the noise, I just think this is the sound of freedom. This is all about the sound of freedom, but I just also want to hear about safety and I'm not hearing the word safety," neighbor Don Hotz said.He's spoken with 10News before, concerned about flight paths Marines take. Several people have been emailing the base since September 2018, creating two binders full of papers. One concern points to a recent Environmental Impact Report draft by the Air Force, suggesting the noise from the F-35 could make neighborhoods in Idaho uninhabitable.Captain Matthew Gregory, MCAS Miramar director of communications, says the document remains unapproved and un-finalized. In Miramar, they've conducted several studies on noise and environmental impact, ensuring it is safe to bring the jets near the surrounding neighborhoods."On take off the F-35 is 2 decibels louder than the F/A-18 however when they're coming in to land, or in their normal flight, an F-35 is 10 or 11 decibels quieter so that's going to help in the noise reduction of the base," Gregory said. He added, over the next 10 years as the F-35 phases out F/A-18s and AV-8B Harriers, the base will get slightly quieter."The engine noise itself has a higher pitch, we're going to notice it a lot more even if it's quieter," Gregory said. He explained the higher pitch is due to a single technologically advanced engine.Neighbors are concerned a single engine plane is more dangerous. Gregory said there's nothing to worry about."It can be more reliable, it's going to cut down on maintenance costs because you're working on one engine instead of two engines. It's going to have increased range and potentially speed because it's lighter overall," he said.Gregory adds the base runs about a third as many aircraft a year compared to when the Navy operated the base. 2063

NATIONAL CITY (KGTV) -- Police in National City are searching for several suspects who reportedly robbed a jewelry store early Tuesday afternoon. According to police, three suspects entered the Eclipse Jewelry store just before 12:30 p.m. The suspects, only described as police as three black men, smashed three to six jewelry cases and got away with an unknown amount of jewelry. RELATED: Good Samaritan picks up diamond ring dropped by jewelry store robber, witnesses sayAfter leaving the store, police say the suspects ran to a getaway car on North 2nd Avenue. Police are looking into whether or not this incident is linked to a string of jewelry store robberies in late 2018 and early 2017. Between December of 2018 and February of 2019, at least three other jewelry stores throughout San Diego County were robbed in a similary manner.
