(CNN) -- Christie Brinkley's daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook will be replacing her mom on this season of "Dancing with the Stars" after the supermodel fell and broke her arm during rehearsals, Christie's rep confirms to CNN."Showbiz is all about getting a break, and Sailor and I both got one on 'Dancing with the Stars' this season," Christie said in a statement to "Good Morning America." "Sailor joined the cast when I got mine ... ouch somebody stop me, it hurts to laugh!"Her rep says that Brinkley tripped over her partner's foot during a turn, and suffered a fall.ABC said in a statement to PEOPLE that Brinkley required surgery to her wrist and arm."We wish Christie a full and speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her in the audience, whenever possible, proudly supporting Sailor," the statement said.Brinkley's daughter has already started rehearsals for the show, which premieres Monday."I felt this high of just attacking something I was so afraid of and it felt like something I need to do," she told "GMA." "I think it will change me."She added her mom is her inspiration."I'm doing this mostly for my mom!" she said. "I just want to make her happy and make her proud. She loved doing this, she loves dancing and she loves performing and getting hurt was her worst nightmare."The intense rehearsal schedule has also sidelined Jewel and Nancy O'Dell in the past. In Season 8, they were both injured during pre-show practices. 1450

YUMA, Ariz. — Mayor Douglas Nicholls announced a state of emergency Tuesday in Yuma, Arizona, due to the large amount of asylum-seeking migrants being released into the city.Yuma is the first border city to declare a state of emergency in response to the influx of migrant families coming to the U.S.-Mexico border seeking asylum. The U.S. Border Patrol has been releasing migrants to Yuma's shelter system over the last few weeks."There's an imminent threat of having too many migrant releases into our community, and it's above our capacity as a community to sustain," Nicholls 591

WOODLAND PARK, Colo. — The parents of missing Colorado mom Kelsey Berreth filed a wrongful death lawsuit against her fiancé Patrick Frazee.Attorneys for Darrell and Cheryl-Lee Berreth filed the lawsuit Friday in U.S. District Court in Denver. The suit is seeking an unspecified amount for the Idaho couple’s grief and suffering following the death of their 29-year-old daughter, whose body has yet to be recovered. The lawsuit alleges Berreth was “murdered on or about November 22, 2018, at the direction and/or hand of Frazee in or about Woodland Park, Teller County, state of Colorado.”The couple is also suing for negligence, alleging “Frazee enacted physical, mental, and emotional acts of violence upon Kelsey Berreth prior to her death, Frazee breached the duty of care with which a reasonable person should conduct himself toward another human being.”Frazee was formally charged with murder Monday morning. Authorities allege he tried to find someone to kill Berreth three times between September and November and causing her death on or around Thanksgiving.Berreth was last seen Thanksgiving Day on a grocery store surveillance video with the couple's 1-year-old daughter. Frazee said the two met that day to exchange their child.Authorities believe Berreth was killed at her home in Woodland Park, Colorado. Her cellphone was tracked to Gooding, Idaho, three days after Thanksgiving.ABC News reported earlier this week that a 32-year-old Twin Falls, Idaho, woman was under investigation for possibly disposing of Berreth’s cell phone. During a court appearance Friday, a judge allowed Frazee to receive a copy of the arrest affidavit in his case but ruled that the document, which contains details of what led prosecutors to charge Frazee with murder and solicitation in Berreth’s death, would remain sealed to the public pending a preliminary hearing. 1903

(CNN) -- An atmospheric river is moving to the West Coast, likely to bring menacing flooding, heavy mountain snow, and damaging winds.Atmospheric rivers are narrow corridors of the upper atmosphere that transport intense moisture from a large body of water onto land.Track the latest weather and holiday travel delaysThe Pineapple Express is a specific atmospheric river that originates near Hawaii and travels across the Pacific Ocean to the western coast of North America.Oregon and Washington will see the worst of the stormThursday through Saturday, heavy precipitation will move into Oregon and Washington. Coastal regions will become saturated from very heavy rain, with as much as 4-8 inches expected. The higher elevations of Oregon and California can expect heavy snow, with possible totals of 5-20 inches. Forecasts for the Cascade Mountains in Washington are even higher, with totals expected between 1-3 feet.Ice is also possible for portions of the Hood River Valley Thursday. Accumulations of up to three-tenths of an inch are possible, which could lead to dangerous driving conditions, tree damage, and power outages.Damaging winds up to 60 mph are expected along the coast, with 25-40 mph farther inland.Storm moves into California By the weekend, the system will move south into California, taking the heavy rain to places like San Francisco and Sacramento. The good news is that the system will weaken as it moves south. So, California will not receive as much rain as Oregon and Washington. Most locations in Northern California will pick up at most 1-2 inches of rain."The atmospheric river for the end of the week looks to be an AR1 in the central California coast and northern Washington, but strengthen as high as an AR4 in Central Oregon," explains Anna Wilson, field operations manager for the Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes (CWWWE) at Scripps Institution of Oceanography.Atmospheric river events are characterized by a rating scale of 1-5, with Category 1 being a low-end, primarily beneficial event, and a Category 5 being a high-end, primarily hazardous event. This scale, used by the CWWWE, takes into account both intensity and duration.According to the agency, atmospheric river events can sometimes produce 25-50% of the annual precipitation in some western US locations. They also provide much of the snowpack and water supply for California. 2397

(CNN) -- Easter Island has long been a bucket list destination for travelers from around the world. But the very thing that keeps the island's economy going strong may be the thing that ultimately causes its ruin: mass tourism.Recently, a spate of bad behavior by travelers on Easter Island, which is famed for its enormous statues known as moai, has spurred new conversations about how visitors to the island should behave.Specifically, a new trend of photos where people make it look like they're "picking the noses" of the moai.Jo Anne Van Tilburg is an archaeologist, director of the Rock Art Archive at the University of California - Los Angeles and the Director of the Easter Island Statue Project.Although her life's work has been to protect and study the moai, these days she's focusing more on educating the hundreds of thousands of people who visit Easter Island on how to behave properly -- on a personal level as well as an environmental one."Because of the ubiquitous nature of photography in our community, people take the same picture repeatedly. Once one person picks a nose of the moai, you can be sure there will be multiple thousands [of photos], because people are lemmings," Von Tilburg tells CNN Travel. Two other examples of these "overdone" photos are people who make it look like they're holding the Great Pyramid of Giza in the palm of their hand and travelers making it look as if they're pushing the Leaning Tower of Pisa up to keep it from falling."There's nothing creative or interesting or humorous about it. The herd instinct is real."Van Tilburg first visited Easter Island, which is part of Polynesia but a territory of Chile, in 1981 as a doctoral student. The island did not get added to the UNESCO World Heritage list until 1995.Since then, she has returned regularly and noticed a shift in the kinds of people who choose to visit Rapa Nui National Park.In the 1980s, between 2,000 and 5,000 travelers per year came to Rapa Nui National Park. These days, it's north of 100,000 annually. Instead of two flights a week from Santiago, there are three a day. That's a huge burden on an island with only about 6,000 full-time residents, not to mention one where water and other natural resources are in limited supply and must be used carefully.Although visitors in the past were able to roam the national park freely and get close to all the moai, the crush of overtourism has come with restrictions and now travelers must stick to a prescribed path and only view a few of the statues. And bad behavior is sadly not a new invention. In 2008, a Finnish man who climbed one of the moai and chipped a piece of ear off was arrested, fined ,000 and ordered to leave the island and never return.Van Tilburg also feels that there has been a shift between people who were longtime fans of archeology and history who saved up to afford a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Easter Island, to people who are simply "collectors of places."In 2018, some controls were put into place to protect Easter Island. Now, foreigners and Chileans who are not Rapa Nui can only get 30-day travel visas instead of the previous 90-day ones. So, if you still want to visit Easter Island and want to show respect for the people and the land there, what can you do? Van Tilburg has a few suggestions."Read and prepare," she says simply. "Once you show your guide you have a serious interest, they will take you seriously. Make your questions deserving of answers."And studying up on Easter Island also means recognizing that it's a living site, not a museum."There are 1,000 statues and there are 5,000 people," Van Tilburg says. "Their faces are just as important." 3669
