A bipartisan group of lawmakers introduced legislation Wednesday that aims to overhaul the way sexual harassment is treated on Capitol Hill, as fresh stories of misconduct involving sitting members of Congress have rocked Washington this week.Rep. Jackie Speier of California and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, both Democrats, unveiled companion bills in the House and Senate to reform the sexual harassment complaint process on the Hill and boost transparency around the sensitive issue. A 25-year-old California woman is accused of trying to flush her newborn baby down a toilet at a fast food restaurant where she was employed, KRON-TV reported. Sarah Lockner is held on an million bail and faces charges of attempted murder and inflicting great bodily harm to a child.According to an account of the incident given to KRON, Lockner, who is a cashier at a McDonald's in Redwood City, California, went to the restroom several times on Sept. 4, complaining of stomach pains. (KGTV) - Southwest Airlines announced plans to begin offering flights to four Hawaiian airports later this year.The airlines will begin selling tickets sometime in 2018 for flights to Honolulu International Airport, Lihue Airport, Kona International Airport at Keahole, and Kahului Airport.Southwest didn't say when the flights would begin service to the islands, prices for flights, or from which airports flights would depart from on the U.S. mainland.A Hawaii-specific page on Southwest's website has since gone live as well.Southwest is reportedly waiting for federal regulatory approvals as certification is required for flights over long distances of water, multiple outlets reported. Extra pilot training and stringent maintenance and replacement of parts are required for flights making such a trip.The news comes on the heels of the airlines said ticket sales have dipped in the wake of a fatal accident aboard a Southwest flight earlier this month. 991

(KGTV) - San Diegans will soon have to press a few more buttons — if they’re not already doing so.Starting May 19, everyone will be required to enter the area code then the 7-digit number when making calls or texts to the 619 or 858 area code. The call or message will not go through if you don’t add the area code prefix.For landlines, there’s one more step for callers. They must enter +1 the area code then the 7-digit number or the call will not be completed.The change was approved last year by the California Public Utilities Commission in an effort to prevent the area from running out of phone numbers. The CPUC expects all 619 prefixed number to be used up by early next year while 858 has approximately 30 years of phone numbers left.Experts suggest reprogramming the number with the proper area code prefix in all services like automatic dialing medical systems and alarm systems.The 619 area code largely serves the city of San Diego and portions of the South Bay, but also East County along with some unincorporated areas.The 858 area code spans north from San Diego into La Jolla, Del Mar and Solana Beach, as well as inland to Rancho Santa Fe, Rancho Bernardo and Poway.This change will not affect emergency calls to 911.  1270
