SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police officers on Friday were working to get a suspect to surrender after a reported shooting.Police say a shooting between the two vehicles occurred just before 2:30 p.m. in the 9800 block of Scripps Westview Way in Scripps Ranch. No one was injured in the shooting.The person who was shot at told police he knew where the suspect lived and officers responded to an apartment complex at 9700 Scripps Westview Way.Officers were trying to get the suspect to come out as of 3:15 p.m.10News is following this breaking news. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police arrested a man this week on suspicion of vandalizing parked cars in Bankers Hill and East Village. Alexander Galarza, 34, was booked into jail Monday on multiple counts of felony vandalism, according to SDPD Lt. Dan Smyth. Galarza used a pole to break the windows of 10 cars in Bankers Hill late Sunday night, police said. He left the area before officers reached the scene. Witnesses said Galarza jumped on the vehicles and used his feet to break the windows. Officers responding to witness calls arrived and arrested Galarza. 734

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Gas and Electric customers won’t have to pay millions in wildfire costs tied to the company, according to a new U.S. Supreme Court ruling. The court Monday rejected the utility’s appeal to pass 9 million on to rate-payers. The costs are related to the deadly 2007 wildfires that tore through San Diego County. Investigators say SDG&E equipment sparked the Witch Guejito and Race Fires. The company has denied the claims and says the fires were caused by other factors. The ruling comes roughly a week after SDG&E asked the Public Utilities Commission to raise the bare minimum bill from to per month. The utility claims the change is needed to accurately reflect the costs of keeping low-use customers to the grid. The move would affect anyone whose bill is less than per month. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Rising temperatures are increasing the wildfire danger in San Diego County. Monday morning's fires near Webster are the third group of fires sparked by homeless people in a matter of months. Neighbors in the area say they are getting nervous. Edna Wallis has been living in her home for three years. As the weather heats up, she says the brush behind her home becomes a safety hazard. "I start rinsing the patio when the days are extremely hot and dry," says Wallis. "We rinse it, but it's not much."Less than five minutes from her home, a fire sparked off Home Avenue early Monday morning. Among brush and a lot of trash, crews worked to put out the flames that started inside of a homeless encampment. "I'm nervous. I'm very nervous because I'm very close to this area," says Wallis. "All of the neighborhood is dry."There have been other fires in the area as well. A homeless camp caught fire near I-805 and I-15 last week. A blaze also sparked in the same area in March. This fire slightly backed up traffic as crews work to put the flames out that started inside of a tent. San Diego Fire and Rescue encourages everyone to report smoke or fires whenever you see them and do not assume some else will call. 1238

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police need help finding a man accused of burglarizing a boat and leaving behind a meth pipe and his own feces. The owner of the boat, Donnie Vachon, is still trying to pick up the pieces since it happened. He's out thousands of dollars due to damage and stolen property."Put it in perspective, it's just a boat, but it's our boat, it's our family's boat, it's my grand-babies boat," said Vachon.The theft happened in September and since then Vachon has heard of two more boat burglaries.He says the same off-brand soda can was left on both his boat and one of the others burglarized."It's kind of a heartbreaker, you wake up and go to work every day and here it sits," said Vachon, looking at the boat parked in the driveway.Detectives have not yet confirmed whether the burglaries are connected but are looking into it.If you have any information, contact Crime Stoppers.
