ANAHEIM, Calif. -- One-tenth of Disneyland employees have recently experienced homelessness while two-thirds of the park’s employees can’t afford three meals a day, according to a union-funded report.Disney officials slammed the report saying it’s politically motivated and that the document is skewed to reflect the position of unions.The report argues that 74 percent of workers at the park can’t pay for basic expenses each month. Much is still unknown about how the order will be implemented, but experts say to keep a few things in mind before making plans for that extra cash.1. It’s temporaryMany employees have a 6.2% Social Security tax withheld from their paychecks and remitted to the IRS on their behalf by their employer. “The executive order defers the withholding, deposit and payment of the tax,” says Matthew Keefer, a certified public accountant at Gorfine, Schiller & Gardyn in Owings Mills, Maryland. The deferral period runs from Sept. 1 through Dec. 31.2. You may not qualifyThe deferral is available only to employees whose pretax wages or compensation is generally less than ,000 biweekly, which works out to around 0,000 a year. And currently it doesn’t apply to people who are self-employed, notes Pete Isberg, vice president of government relations at human resources services firm ADP.3. The taxes are due eventually“This is a deferral of taxes, not a forgiveness of taxes,” says Michael Graetz, a tax law professor at Columbia University Law School in New York. “So at the end of the deferral period, all of those taxes will be owed unless Congress changes the law to say that they’re forgiven.”4. Consider setting the extra money aside for nowIf your employer stops withholding and you see a boost in your pay because of it, you might want to hang on to that cash for now, Keefer says. “Unless legislation is passed, the deferred tax from the executive order will be repaid in the future,” he says. They discovered that the undulating motion the snakes exhibit while gliding stabilizes them, which allows them to fly further. Previously, researchers thought the snakes' movements in the air were the same movement they used when slithering on the ground.Now, researchers say they want to learn how the snakes generate lift and how they can turn in the air.Luckily, while the paradise snake is poisonous, its venom is weak compared to other species. In the video, posted on Facebook, Santa is seen being thrust forward as the float he’s riding on seemingly malfunctions. Luckily, Santa was okay. Later in the video, he can be seen climbing down a ladder on the float uninjured. An auction house in New Jersey is offering bidders the chance to blow up an Atlantic City casino and hotel once owned by President Donald Trump.Bodnar's Auction Sales says it will open auction bidding Saturday for the chance to press the button that will ignite the controlled implosion of the Trump Plaza Casino and Hotel.According to a description on the live bidding website, all proceeds from the auction will "benefit" the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City."Ever since the start of this pandemic they have seen an increase of young children and adolescents benefit from the services of The Boys & Girl Club and are in need of all the assistance they can get for the community," Bodnar's said in its item description.Bidding for the chance to implode the building is open to anyone, and Bodnar's adds that the demolition can be conducted "anywhere in the world as well as close to the Plaza as we can safely get you there."Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino opened in 1984 — Trump's first property on the famed Atlantic City Boardwalk. However, the casino closed in 2014 and has sat abandoned ever since.In June, Carl Icahn — the senior lender for the Trump Plaza's mortgage — submitted plans to Atlantic for the casino's planned demolition. The city asked that the building be demolished because it had fallen into disrepair, and debris was falling to the boardwalk below.The implosion of the casino is currently slated for early February, according to CNN.
