You may not realize it, but those posts are helping out restaurants.Voodoo Doughnut in Denver, Colorado is one shop that has received free advertisement, thanks to their ‘Instagramable’ doughnut creations.Cat Daddy and Tres Shannon, the owners of the world-famous doughnut shop, say when they started, it was all about luring customers in with their eccentric aesthetic.   "Kind of like we've created this colorful, crazy psychedelic place that sort of lends its self to take pictures in front of,” says Shannon.“Everyone is into the esthetic of their Instagram and how your pictures look together, so if the food matches your Instagram, that looks good," says one patron.   Having free advertisement on social media platforms helps business, and restaurants need all the help they can get. 60 percent of new restaurants don't make it past the first year, according to an Ohio State University study.  That's why other spots are cooking up their own unique creations.   Chomp Eatery and Juice Station in Santa Monica have the “Unicorn Melt,” a spin on the grilled cheese sandwich. Black Tap in New York is popular for what it calls their “Crazy Shakes.” You can't help but take a pic of these eye-catching foods.  The owners of Voodoo Doughnut believe social media posts has helped their business reach a wider audience.   "It definitely helps business. Antwone Berry was found shot and killed in January in Milwaukee, two weeks after he went missing.Milwaukee police say 34-year-old Skylard Grant is accused of killing Berry. According to police and family members, the two were close friends around each other a lot. That's why this killing is senseless to them.“It's just ridiculous, to come to find out that someone that's very close to you and be the one to hurt you," said Tashe Lee, Berry’s cousin."He didn't deserve that, you know that was the wrong thing," said Steve Lee, another cousin.Berry went missing on Christmas Eve, for two weeks his family searched all over for him in the cold.He was found shot to death two weeks later on Jan. 7 in a wooded area in Milwaukee.According to the criminal complaint, witnesses say Grant was drunk and began arguing with Berry about not sending him money when he was previously in jail.Grant allegedly shot and killed Berry with his own gun. Grant tried to then sell Berry's gun to another friend, who declined and asked of Berry's whereabouts. Court documents show that's when Grant said."....you ain't gonna be seeing him no more, I had to take care of him," he allegedly said. "That wasn't fair to him it wasn't fair to us for somebody to be getting taken away from us," Tasha Lee said.  "Just hoping for the best, hope that he gets life, that’s what I want for him to have life, he took my cousin's life, he deserve to have life."Grant was actually arrested for this case on Jan. 4. Investigators analyzed phone records placing grant near the area where berry's body was found. Surveillance video also showed Grant's SUV near the scene the day Berry went missing.Homicide numbers from Milwaukee Police for this year indicate that of 32 homicide cases so far in Milwaukee this year, 14 remain open. 1834

It's also working on getting felons registered to vote in Florida.According to the LA Times, More Than a Vote donated 0,000 to the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition.More than million was raised by former New York mayor Mike Bloomberg to help pay the court fines and fees, the Washington Times reported.Former NFL quarterback Michael Vick is also working with the organizations after gaining access to vote with the passing of Amendment 4, which restored voting rights to over 1.4 million Floridians with a prior felony conviction.In May, U.S. District Judge Robert L. Hinkle ruled that a state law signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis can't bar Floridians with prior felony convictions from voting because they still owe court fines or fees that they cannot pay, NPR reported.However, this month, according to the ACLU, a federal appeals court in Atlanta blocked the judge's order, keeping the law in place.In the case, a hearing is set for August 18, which is the same day as Florida's primary elections, according to WUFT. 1361
