(KGTV) — San Diego Sheriff's Department has identified the man fatally shot by deputies inside an East County Del Taco last week.SDSO said a call was made on Jan. 5 just after 8:30 p.m. that a customer at the Del Taco located at 7060 Broadway had pointed a handgun at the caller while inside the restaurant. Deputies arrived and said they attempted to make contact with the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Adolfo Gonzalez, but he produced a handgun and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.The deputies who fired at Gonzalez were identified as SDSO deputies Cenizo, Daly, and Dow, according to the department. Lake Charles Police Chief Shawn Caldwell says that in five people have died from carbon monoxide poisoning while using a generator.Caldwell says that generator safety is important and asks that residents keep generators away from covered areas of homes."Don't let a generator cost you your life," Caldwell said.The generator was inside an attached garage and the door was partially open. The level of carbon monoxide caused the deaths of all five inside the home.A total six people have died from carbon monoxide poisoning since Hurricane Laura has passed.Electricity is expected to remain out for days or even weeks throughout Louisiana following the hurricane. 670

(KGTV) — A personnel appeal board rejected an appeal filed by former La Mesa Police officer Matthew Dages, who was fired over a viral video showing him push a man into a seated position at a trolley stop.Dages was terminated in August over the video that surfaced in June, showing him push a black man into a sitting position on a bench, and handcuffing him and arresting him at Grossmont Trolley Station. The man, 23-year-old Amaurie Johnson, was told he was arrested for assaulting an officer.RELATED: Protesters call for transparency from La Mesa Police DepartmentAfter bodycam video of the arrest was released, La Mesa Police Department dropped charges against Johnson and placed Dages on administrative leave pending an investigation.Dages was eventually fired by former La Mesa Police Chief Walt Vasquez. (CNS) - Helicopters made water-dropping sorties Thursday morning on fast-moving, out-of-control wildfire, which was 0% contained after scorching 10,500 acres in the Lake Hughes area, prompting the mandatory evacuation of at least 100 structures.The Lake Fire was reported at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday near North Lake Hughes Road and Pine Canyon Road in the Angeles National Forest, according to Marvin Lim of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, which was battling the blaze along with Angeles National Forest crews, as well as assistance from the Los Angeles, Culver City, Beverly Hills, Monterery Park and Santa Monica fire departments.ABC 10News learned teams from Rancho Santa Fe, Vista Fire, San Miguel Fire, Lakeside Fire, Oceanside Fire, Camp Pendleton, Pala Reservation, San Pasqual, and likely San Diego Fire-Rescue were dispatched to assist in the firefighting effort.Three San Diego County strike teams will also respond, with each team bringing five trucks.As of 7 a.m. Thursday, the fire's size was listed as 10,500 acres, with three structures destroyed and 5,420 threatened, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. No injuries have been reported.The fire west of Palmdale had a "rapid rate of spread," amid temperatures in the mid-90s, low humidity and gusty winds, according to the U.S. Forest Service. The forest service and county fire departments quickly called in second-alarm responses.The fire "will continue to grow and threaten the surrounding communities of Lake Hughes, Leona Valley, Lake Elizabeth, Pine Canyon and Three Points," the Los Angeles County Fire Department said about 10 p.m. Wednesday, adding air operations would continue overnight.By 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, the flames had burned 400 acres, and officials said the fire had the potential to burn 1,000 acres, according the department.
