President Donald Trump said in a statement that he will contest President-Elect Joe Biden’s win, adding that he does not accept the result of last Tuesday’s election.Saturday morning, the Associated Press projected Biden to win the state of Pennsylvania, which gives him a projected 290 Electoral College votes to become president. Biden is leading Pennsylvania by more than 34,000 votes with a small number of ballots left to be counted. Moments after Pennsylvania was called, the Associated Press also called Nevada, meaning even if Biden had not won Pennsylvania, he would reach 270 Electoral College votes. In many states, like Pennsylvania, his supporters listened by voting in person rather than through the mail.In Pennsylvania, Trump won the Election Day vote by a 2-to-1 margin, but trailed the mail-in vote by a 3-to-1 margin.“There’s tremendous amount of litigation generally because of how unfair this process was,” Trump said earlier this week. “And I predicted that. I've been talking about mail-in voting for a long time. It's, uh, it's really destroyed our system. It's a corrupt system, and it makes people corrupt, even if they aren't by nature, but they become corrupt.”Because of Pennsylvania state law, boards of elections were not permitted to count mail-in ballots until Tuesday. Mail-in ballots generally take longer to tabulate, which is why results were tabulated through the week. President Donald Trump called Attorney General Jeff Sessions an "idiot" to his face and said he should resign in May, The New York Times reported Thursday.Sessions, an advocate for hardline policies on immigration and criminal justice, ultimately stayed on despite the humiliating Oval Office session with Trump, the Times reported, citing current and former administration officials as well as others briefed.Trump berated Sessions, the Times said, during a May 17 meeting with his top advisers to consider replacements for former FBI Director James Comey, who Trump had fired earlier that month. During the meeting, White House counsel Don McGahn received a call from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, where he learned Rosenstein appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller as special counsel for the investigation into potential coordination between Trump's associates and Russia to influence the 2016 election.The Times report said Trump lashed out in response to that news.A source told CNN in June that Sessions offered to resign following a series of heated exchanges with the President. Her smile can really brighten up the room," said friend Brandon Kim.For the friends of Kim Huynh, smiles for them are hard to muster."To me it was just shock," said Kim.Last Thursday night, the 18-year-old Huynh was driving back home to Poway with her older sister after finishing her first quarter at UC Riverside, when the car spun out on a Murietta highway, slamming into a tree and killing her. Her sister suffered minor injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation."She was one of my closest friends," said Kim. Kim met Huynh in grade school."Super smart. Ten times smarter than me," said Kim.Kim said his friend also had a joyful side and loved having fun. Huynh danced for one of Rancho Bernardo High's dance teams. After graduating, she enrolled at UC Riverside on scholarship. The pre-med student also hoped to help her immigrant parents."She said she wanted to become a doctor to give back to them for taking such good care of her," said Kim.After her death, friends gathered this weekend to remember a promising life cut short."Everybody broke down ... I want to grow up with everyone. The fact I have to leave someone behind breaks my heart," said Kim.The funeral is planned for Thursday. Potential accuracy issues with a widely used coronavirus test could lead to false results for patients, U.S. health officials warned.The Food and Drug Administration issued the alert Monday to doctors and laboratory technicians using Thermo Fisher’s TaqPath genetic test. Regulators said issues related to laboratory equipment and software used to run the test could lead to inaccuracies. The agency advised technicians to follow updated instructions and software developed by the company to ensure accurate results.The warning comes nearly a month after Connecticut public health officials first reported that at least 90 people had received false positive results for the coronavirus. Most of those receiving the false results were residents of nursing homes or assisted living facilities.A spokeswoman for Thermo Fisher said the company was working with FDA “to make sure that laboratory personnel understand the need for strict adherence to the instructions for use.” She added that company data shows most users “follow our workflow properly and obtain accurate results.”The FDA said one possible problem was related to the incorrect use of equipment that rapidly spins samples in preparation for processing. The agency’s letter tells lab workers to follow new instructions developed by the company for this step.A second issue relates to the software used on Thermo Fisher’s testing platform. President Donald Trump said Thursday he is opposed to changing the structure for the remaining two presidential debates.
