Two brothers who authorities said took part in a staged attack on actor Jussie Smollett were "betrayed" by the celebrity, their attorney told CNN on Monday."I believe my clients were betrayed," Gloria Schmidt said on CNN's "AC 360," referring to brothers Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo. "You have to look at what kind of relationship they had with Mr. Smollett. He's a celebrity. This is somebody who is in a position of power over my clients."She added: "We've seen a lot of stories in the news where celebrities think they might be above the law. It's just not the case."Smollett reported to police in January that he had been attacked in Chicago in an incident that ended with a noose around his neck. Police initially investigated the case as a possible hate crime.Mark Geragos, Smollett's attorney, spoke with Anderson Cooper on Friday and said Smollett refused to sign a police complaint after the incident because "he could not believe it.""I haven't' seen one piece of evidence and they don't have one piece of evidence that they've turned over that links Jussie to this," Geragos said, referring to allegations that the attack was orchestrated.Smollett, an actor on the Fox drama "Empire," was recently indicted on 16 felony counts of disorderly conduct by a Cook County grand jury.The counts in the indictment obtained by CNN say Smollett gave statements to a Chicago police officer after the incident and to a detective. UPDATE 11 P.M.: The mother of a 6-month-old boy who was missing says she had no way to reach the babysitter, who was a family friend, which is why she reported him missing.“Just the relief, I can’t explain how relieved I am,” Sharissa Robinson said.Robinson told 13 Action News that Monique is a family friend and that’s why she asked her to babysit him.The mother said later she realized that she had no way to reach her.Reporter: “Why did you not have a way to contact her?”Sharissa: “I was told she had a number, she didn’t have one, miscommunication on several ends or whatever.”Reporter: “Well at what point did you realize you didn’t have a way to reach this woman to get her baby?”Sharissa: “When it was five I’m wondering where my kid is, it's about to get dark.”Around 2 p.m. Wednesday, Atreu was found. Police say Atreyu’s mother, 42-year-old Sharissa Robinson, asked 27-year-old Monique Sims (a.k.a. Monique Reese) and two of her friends to babysit Atreyu at another location. According to witnesses, Atreyu was last seen on March 5 at about 3 p.m. at a home near Nelson Avenue and Donna Street in the company of Monique. That wasn’t an option for one Missouri bride, but her dad was there in spirit thanks to a silly prank he pulled before his death. Skye Harmon was only 2 years old when her father, Michael Woodruff, went to the hospital for what he though was a hernia. Turns out, he had Stage 4 Burkitt lymphoma and learned he only had a few months to live. Being so young at the time of his death, Harmon says she only ever got to know her dad through stories told by friends and family.“My aunts and uncles, grandparents, and my mom have always told me things about him that made me feel close to him,” said Harmon, who is now 23.On her wedding day in October, Harmon says her uncle, Mark Woodruff, visited her in her bridal room before the ceremony and told her a story about her dad that she had never heard before. Harmon’s uncle told her that her father was the best man in his wedding and when it was time to hand him the rings, he instead gave him a googly eyed, red-lipped frog ring as a joke.Woodruff held onto that silly ring since that day and passed it onto his niece on her special day. Before she walked down the aisle, Harmon slipped the frog ring onto her right-hand ring finger, serving as a reminder that her father was there with her as she married the love of her life, Aaron Harmon.“I wore it on my right hand as I walked down the aisle and will treasure it forever,” said Harmon.Harmon says she and her husband plan to put the fragile frog ring in a shadow box alongside other mementos from their wedding. 1622

Gambling executive Ted Binion, son of the casino owner Benny Binion, died more than 20 years ago in Las Vegas under suspicious circumstances. His body was found in his home on Palomino Lane in Las Vegas and his stripper girlfriend, Sandy Murphy, and her lover, Rick Tabish, were later arrested for his murder.Although his death was reported as a suicide by his girlfriend, it was believed that Binion was actually killed for his money. 947
