ALPINE (CNS) - A motorcyclist was killed Friday afternoon in a collision with a truck on a rural East County road.The crash occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on Japatul Valley Road, near Bell Bluff Truck Trail in the Alpine area, according to the California Highway Patrol.The motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident, which left the two-lane roadway blocked into the early evening, the CHP reported.The victim's name was not immediately available. 459

After being sworn into office Wednesday, Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona talked with Scripps' National Political Editor, Joe St. George, in Washington. Kelly was elected in November but sworn in early because he is technically filling the seat of the late Senator John McCain. Kelly ran on changing Washington. "You think you can change this place?" St. George asked Kelly. "It can be changed. Often change takes time, but change can be a good thing for our country," Kelly said. Regarding COVID-19, Kelly said he spoke with Senator Joe Manchin, D-WV, regarding a bipartisan proposal to provide more economic relief to Americans. "I am going to look at the details," Kelly said, not commenting yet on whether he supports it. Kelly will be up for reelection in 2022. "Would you like to be here a lot longer than that?" St. George asked. "Well I just got started," Kelly said. "Will you run again though?" St. George asked. "The important thing is we address the important issues Arizonans are facing," Kelly said. A Ypsilanti teen says he worked hard to buy the car of his dreams, only to find out the car he had bought from a man on Craigslist was registered as stolen. Daniel O’Bryan has been balancing high school and his job at a grocery store for the past two years. He saved up enough money to buy a 2008 Trail Blazer from a man on Craigslist. O’Bryan and his family thought through their research. “My husband checked all three spots on the car to make sure the VIN number matched with the title that the gentleman had, and everything came back fine there were no red flags or anything,” O’Bryan’s mother, Kathy O’Bryan said.It was not until they had taken the car to the Michigan Secretary of State that they found out the car was listed as stolen. The rightful owner of the car is Sal’s Auto Parts out of Detroit. The owner said he lent the car to a business partner at M&G Repair, and the car was stolen outside the workers' Allen Park home. “Probably the most hurtful part was seeing my car being towed away and I didn’t even get to drive it yet,” O’Bryan said. O'Bryan says the man who sold him the car is not returning his calls. A spokesperson for the Michigan Secretary of State provided these tips for buying a car offline:  1283
