A woman was removed from an American Airlines flight, reportedly because of language on a mask she was wearing.Arlinda Johns shared a video of the incident on her social media accounts at the end of the July. The video begins with her covering her original mask with another one as the plane she is on drives toward the runway.Her original mask read “F*** 12”, and she was asked by an airline attendant to cover it up because of the language.The number “12” in this use is a reference to law enforcement. Johns told Local 10 News she is an “abolitionist” and supports efforts to “defund and abolish the police.”She says after she put on the new mask, the flight attendant returned and told Johns, “I better not see that other mask.” Johns says she responded, “I said, ‘Leave me alone, lady.’ She stood there, she said, ‘okay, I got you.’”“Everything she asked me to do, I did,” Johns said in her video.The video shows the plane driving back to the gate in Charlotte and Johns being asked to leave the plane.During the conversation with security, Johns repeatedly asks not to be called sir and asks for an explanation why she is being removed. The gentleman does not elaborate and only says she has to get off the plane.Once inside the airport, Johns again asks why she was removed. Toward the end of the video, a gentleman escorting her away from the gate tells her she cannot get on another flight that day because of her “disruptive behavior.” 1453

Allergan has recalled almost 170,000 sample packs of birth control pills because of a packaging error that could put consumers at risk for unintended pregnancy.According to the recall, four placebo capsules were placed out of order in a sample pack of Taytulla and the first four days of therapy had four non-hormonal placebo capsules instead of active capsules."As a result of this packaging error, oral contraceptive capsules, that are taken out of sequence, may place the user at risk for contraceptive failure and unintended pregnancy," The recall states. "The reversing of the order may not be apparent to either new users or previous users of the product, increasing the likelihood of taking the capsules out of order."Allergan says they are notifying customers by recall letter and is arranging for return of all recalled sample pack product with the lot #5620706 Exp. May 2019. Alleged Austin serial bomber Mark Anthony Conditt was "a deep thinker" who came from a tight family that home-schooled him, people who knew him told CNN on Wednesday.Conditt killed himself early Wednesday after police, who had been staking out his hotel, followed him onto Interstate 35. After a short time, authorities said, Conditt pulled into a ditch and detonated an explosive device as Austin Police Department SWAT team members approached his car.That he could be a skilled bombmaker responsible for at least six explosive devices, five of which detonated, over an almost three-week period in Austin and outside San Antonio seemed unthinkable to his grandmother, she said, adding that he was a quiet, kind and loving person and she'd never seen any signs of malice or violence in him. 798

AKRON, Ohio - The Akron Police Department is investigating a viral video that shows officers using a Taser on a man and punching him while he was on the ground during an arrest.The video, captured by a neighbor, shows one officer punching the man multiple times.Warning: The video below includes images and language that some users may find disturbing.Akron police said they saw the man, who they identified as 47-year-old Patrick King, coming out of a known drug house Sunday. They made an investigative stop while he was walking down the street.King gave false information about his identity, an Akron police official said. An officer tried to detain him and got a handcuff on one of his hands. King then resisted by trying to run away, pulling away, tensing up and refusing all verbal commands, the official said.A neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, captured the incident on video and posted it to Facebook – it’s since been shared over 3,000 times and viewed over 147,000 times.The neighbor felt the officers went too far."As soon as they put the one handcuff on him, that's when they got to throwing him around and slamming him and beating on him and stuff like that," he said.Akron police said they arrested King and charged him with tampering with evidence, resisting arrest, misrepresenting identity, drug paraphernalia and drug abuse. King also had an active warrant out of Cuyahoga County for a parole violation.Akron police said they have begun a use of force investigation into this incident. Akron officials have not identified the officers who were involved. Deputy Chief Jesse Leeser said King is 6-feet-4 and 220 pounds and the officers were winded trying to get him under control."Officers used force to include tasing, strikes and pressure points," Leeser said. "He was obviously actively fighting with these officers. The fight had gone to the ground. Not only did he have that handcuff as a weapon possibly, but the officers were also exposed. We're not street fighters."Leeser said all of the officers remain on the job. 2076
