(KGTV) -- The Chula Vista Police Department is investigating a series of suspicious fires over the weekend.According to the department, the activity began on September 17, when a series of fires broke out in East Chula Vista. Crews were called to the fires beginning at 3:30 a.m.The department says four separate fires sparked within a 30-minute window on Lake Crest Drive, Eastlake Parkway, Telegraph Canyon Road, and East J Street.RELATED: Fire scorches Chula Vista playground overnightOn September 19, a fire erupted at a Veterans Park playground. Video from the scene showed the raging blaze and an explosion at the playground. Fire officials are investigating the fire at the Veterans Park Community Center as suspicious.Police are also investigating a fire that started on September 20 on the 1300 block of Martin Place. According to fire officials, residents in the home woke up to find their backyard fence on fire.“As of this latest one, we have now requested our PD liaison because there seems to be a trend and we want to get to the bottom of this,” said Captain Linda D’Orsi, Public Information Officer for the Chula Vista Fire Department.Captain D’Orsi said they have not found anything left behind at each scene and have not found any witnesses with information on people in the area.“No obvious evidence left at the scene, no matches no flares,” she said.She added that anyone with information is asked to call the Chula Vista Police Department non emergency line at 619-691-5151.“We just want the community to be aware and be willing to provide information if they have any,” said Captain D’Orsi.See the map below for locations on all the blazes: 1690

(KGTV) -- The mother of a South Bay teen says her 16-year-old son had a disturbing encounter at a store parking lot in Eastlake.Suher Haidar said a man offered her son money for a sexual act as her son was leaving the Walmart on Eastlake Parkway on Monday."It's just gross," Haidar said. "That's the only way I can explain it."She said her son was walking to his car in the store parking lot when a man in a pickup truck waved him down to get his attention. He was trying to make small talk when the conversation shifted to the disturbing proposition. That's when her son pulled out his phone and recorded the encounter. The man drove away after her son began yelling at him and recording him."My son was just disgusted, and he did what he had to do," Haidar said. "His father and I are really proud of him for standing up for himself and being quick to pull out his phone."She posted her son's video on social media, and several people have commented to say the same person tried to start a conversation with their teenage sons.The Chula Vista Police Department says they are investigating the incident. CHULA VISTA (KGTV) - Chula Vista police are searching for a possible arsonist after four brush fires were set within minutes of each other Thursday morning.Firefighters responded around 3:30 a.m. to the area south of Lake Crest Drive and east of Wueste Road in Eastlake.While crews were working to put out the fire, they received a second fire call nearly three miles away on Eastlake Parkway.The third brush fire happened a short time after on Telegraph Canyon Road, and then the fourth fire broke out near Vista Oak Place.No one was hurt, and firefighters were able to put out all the fires.Witnesses told fire investigators they saw a silver Lexus leaving the scene of the fourth fire around 4:15 a.m.Anyone with information on the suspected arsonist or the incidents is asked to contact the Metro Arson Strike Team (MAST) at 619-236-6815. 850

CHULA VISTA (KGTV) - A former San Diego psychiatrist who reportedly had offices in Chula Vista, San Ysidro, Kearny Mesa and El Cajon pleaded guilty Monday to a felony charge of having sexual contact with seven female patients during office visits and a misdemeanor count of sexual battery for groping an eighth woman.Leon Fajerman, 75, will be ordered to serve 365 days in custody and be required to register as a sex offender at a sentencing hearing Jan. 18.Judge Francis Devaney will consider alternatives to actual jail time, according to Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Matzger, City News Service reported.REPORT: San Diego County psychiatrist charged with sexual battery, having sex with patientFajerman -- who has been a licensed physician in California since 1978 -- voluntarily surrendered his medical license in May, state records show.In September 2017, court records showed that Fajerman assaulted three female patients, including one who said he groped her breasts and buttocks, according to the Union-Tribune.The complaints were turned in to the Medical Board of California. (KGTV) - A South Bay dentist is donating his time and services to a local Border Patrol agent with ALS.10News first showed you Jeff Miranda’s fight against his deadly disease earlier this month. Miranda was diagnosed three years ago. He is now in a wheelchair and uses eye gaze technology to communicate.Dr. Alex Liu of the Otay Lakes Dental Group saw the 10News story and decided to help. The family has been patients there for a few years.Dr. Liu will now be providing dental work to the entire family free of charge."We've seen it firsthand the effects that ALS has had not just on Jeffrey, but the family as well," said office manager Pablo Rojas. Liz Miranda told 10News reporter Melissa Mecija this “is above and beyond!”“We are extremely grateful to them as well as you and the Channel 10 news team for all of this support!” Liz wrote. 875
