FALLBROOK (CNS) - The San Diego County Sheriff's Department Saturday released the name of the man who was shot after he allegedly attacked a deputy with a baseball bat early Friday morning.The Sheriff's Department says a deputy was investigating reports of unprovoked assaults with a bat when he found himself under the same kind of attack from 30-year-old Jesus Cirilo Rodriguez.The deputy was sitting in an unmarked car around 4:30 a.m. Friday in the area of Reche and Ranger roads in Fallbrook when the attack happened, sheriff's Lt. (KGTV) — An arrest has been made in connection with an Escondido house fire this week where a man was found unresponsive and later died.Jose Trinidad Romero, 32, was arrested Wednesday after his truck was stopped by police in Escondido. Investigators said they believe Romero knew the man found unresponsive in the fire, but are unsure of the exact relationship. On Oct. 4, firefighters and police responded to the fire in the 600 block of Waverly Place. The victim, who has not been publicly identified, was found inside unresponsive.
