"Strong leads" are being pursued to catch two men believed to be responsible for multiple fatal shootings across the Nashville area, police said. At this point, Metro Nashville Police said they are connecting three, different shootings with four victims – three of whom have died. The police department tweeted Monday morning that Chief Steve Anderson met with detectives in the case and said strong leads are being pursued. The first incident happened back on Aug. 8 in the Inglewood area when a 39-year-old woman was shot while walking her dog just before 1 a.m. She survived but police have confirmed the shooting left her paralyzed.Less than a week later, investigators said 31-year-old Kendall Rice was walking to work when he was robbed and fatally shot on Alta Loma Road in Madison. Kendall RiceThe third shooting linked to the spree happened around 3:30 a.m. Friday in East Nashville outside of The Cobra Nashville, a local bar.  Four people were heading to get a snack at a convenience store when they were robbed.  Las Vegas is getting set to host the first major event since the 1 October shooting.The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and Half Marathon has 40,000 runners registered for Sunday's races.As one of the rare events that shuts down the Las Vegas Strip, security concerns are heightened this year in light of the recent tragedy."Up until the shooting I honestly didn't even think about security as an issue and as soon as that happened, I was a little nervous," said Tom Sullivan, who will be running his first marathon.Captain Andy Walsh with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is in charge of security this year.He says marathon safety really changed after the Boston Marathon bombing in 2014, and 1 October changed it again."We've added some counter-sniper surveillance posts along the route," Walsh said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man police say rammed a patrol vehicle while holding a gun prompted an officer-involved shooting in North Park Saturday. The incident began around 9:20 p.m. when police received a call about a carjacking near Maryland Street and Madison Avenue. According to San Diego Police, the victim’s property, including a 2019 Subaru Outback, was taken at gunpoint. RELATED: Man arrested in officer-involved shooting sparked by pursuitPolice responded and found the vehicle on the 1800 block of Washington Street. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the driver, a 17-year-old boy, fled the scene, leading police on a chase. The pursuit ended when the suspect drove off the road at Arizona Street and Howard Avenue before putting the car in reverse and driving toward officers. While backing up, police say the 17-year-old slouched down in the driver’s seat, pointing a handgun at police and prompting an officer to fire his weapon at the suspect. The man continued to back up, slamming into a patrol car, police say. No officers were injured. At this time, the suspect isn’t being identified due to his age.
