Two Tennessee lawmakers have proposed a bill that would end child marriage in Tennessee.According to a press release Monday, the bill would make marriage age 18 and up – with no exceptions. The bills are sponsored by Sen. Jeff Yarbro and Rep. Darren Jernigan.According to the Pew Research Center, Tennessee is tied for the 6th-highest rate of child marriage. The current law allows 16 and 17-year-olds to marry when parents join in the marriage license application. Judges or county mayors may also approve marriages of people younger than 16, with no minimum age, according to a release. "Current Tennessee law, would allow either a county elected official or a county judge to approve a marriage for a 15 year old, 14 year old, 9 year old," said Sen. Yarbo. "We think that is relatively insane."The founder of Unchained At Last, Fraidy Reiss, also claimed girls as young as 10 years old were married to men in their 20s in Tennessee. The organization collected marriage license data from 38 states and found that Tennessee has married thousands of children. 1097

Ayton is currently a freshman on the No. 14-ranked Wildcats, where he averages 19 points and 10 rebounds a game. That third party is Christian Dawkins, who the FBI says acted as an agent who steered players to certain schools in exchange for cash payments. In a Yahoo Sports report on Friday, Dawkins was listed as one of the key figures in an FBI investigation into corruption in college basketball.ESPN says a source familiar with the government's evidence told them that Miller discussed paying 0,000 to make sure star freshman Ayton signed with the Wildcats. 906
VALLEY CENTER, Calif. (KGTV) — A man wanted for trying to kidnap young girls in the Los Angeles and Escondido areas is in custody, according to San Diego Sheriff's Department.SDSO says Elijah Lopez, 24, was wanted on suspicion of following and forcibly grabbing a six-year-old girl who was walking with her blind father in Huntington Park, south of downtown Los Angeles, on Tuesday.A wanted flyer was issued bu LAPD and eventually reached SDSO's Valley Center substation.Wednesday, an SDSO deputy was driving back to Valley Center when he noticed a man matching Lopez's description at the intersection of Highway 78 and Broadway, wearing the same clothes detailed in the wanted flyer, the department says.As the deputy detained Lopez, SDSO says an observer flagged the deputy down, claiming Lopez had been following a juvenile, who ran into a nearby grocery store for help."It was near the end of his shift," said Lt. Pat Shannon, the Valley Center Sheriff's Substation's commanding officer. "He still had the mindset to have those observation skills on, thank goodness he did because I'm positive he averted something worse from happening."Escondido Police say they are investigating a case that occurred on Tuesday, in which Lopez was reportedly seen at about 4:30 p.m. in the area of Valley Parkway and Midway Dr. chasing a young woman. The woman entered a store to get away, an EPD spokesperson said.
