SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police have identified the man suspected of stabbing a 55-year-old to death in the Midway District Thanksgiving Day. According to San Diego Police, Forrest Robert Brantley, 38, stabbed 55-year-old Robert Frank Erbe around 8 a.m. November 28 on the 3100 block of Sports Arena Boulevard. Erbe was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.RELATED: Police identify man killed in Midway District stabbingAfter investigating the stabbing, police learned that Brantley and Erbe got into some sort of fight before Brantley is accused of stabbing Erbe in the neck. Brantley was last seen walking away from the scene. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, police say. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police said Tuesday they have arrested a student for threatening to "shoot up" Westview High School.The threat was reported by school staff Tuesday, wherein a student reportedly told other students not to come to school Wednesday "because the student was going to shoot up the school," according to a press release from school officials.Officials said several students reported the threats to Westview High officials. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - On Wednesday, ABC10 News interviewed San Diego County Superior Court Presiding Judge Lorna Alksne about this week's first criminal jury trial since all jury trials were halted in March.“We summoned 800 jurors and about 250 or so postponed their service like we told them to do if they felt uncomfortable or had a conflict or co-morbidity or something like that and of the remaining jurors we called in, only 41 showed,” she told ABC10 News and added, “The system doesn't work without jurors.” She went on to say, “I can only anecdotally think that people are unsure of public transportation or coming back Downtown to serve.”Wednesday marked the second day of the trial which was for an elder abuse case.Judge Alksne said that the courts have sufficient safety measures in place for jurors. “When they went back into the courtroom, they had these plexiglass barriers in between them if they're more than six feet apart and everyone wore masks and there was hand sanitizer everywhere. It's as safe as going to Costco,” she told ABC10 News.The courts have maintained that the only way to address the backlog of cases is with cooperation from San Diegans who are called for duty. She added, “What I [asked] the jurors yesterday was if you had a loved one who was incarcerated [and] pending trial and nobody showed up to do jury trial, how would they ever get their chance for their day in court?”Judge Alksne said that another trial is scheduled for next week and two are scheduled for the following week. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One man is dead and another person was injured after two separate shootings just miles apart early Saturday.The first shooting occurred in the Lincoln Park area before 3:30 a.m. near Euclid and Imperial avenues. A suspect wearing dark clothing reportedly shot at a group of transients, according to San Diego Police.One person was hit by debris from the gunshot and taken to the hospital as a precaution.MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhoodA second shooting occurred about two miles away, an officer patrolling Mountain View heard gunshots around the same time. He arrived to find a man lying on the ground on South 45th Street, near Willy Henderson Sports Complex.The Hispanic man in his 20s to 30s was shot multiple times and died at the scene, police said. His identity has not been released.Police are searching for a white Volkswagon seen in the area by witnesses following the shooting.
