(KGTV) — Authorities have identified the South Bay woman killed in a multi-vehicle pileup on Interstate 5 in Irvine this week.Maria Osuna, 25, of National City, was killed in the collision involving at least nine vehicles at about 1:25 a.m. on I-5 near Irvine Spectrum Center.Osuna was the only person killed in the crash, according to California Highway Patrol.RELATED: Girl, 12, among victims in fiery wrong-way crash on Interstate 805 in University City areaA six-month-old boy, believed to be Osuna's son, also suffered "major to moderate injuries" in the crash. 10News learned that the boy was taken to Mission Viejo hospital.Two other children from different vehicles were also hospitalized with unknown injuries.A 22-year-old Nevada man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to ABC7 in Los Angeles. Proposition 21 would have allowed counties to apply rent control to housing more than 15 years old, with the exception of some single-family homes.Single-family homes owned by people with no more than two properties would have been exempt under proposition 21.Those in support say it’s the change needed to combat homelessness and keep people in their homes. (CNN) - President Donald Trump made his first visit to a war zone on Wednesday, receiving an enthusiastic reception from many US troops there -- some of whom may have run afoul of military rules.Video footage and the written report of Trump's visit with service members in Iraq showed the President signing "Make America Great Again" hats and an embroidered patch that read "Trump 2020."A US military official told CNN the MAGA hats that Trump signed at the Ramstein Air Base event in Germany were personal and brought there by military personnel in hopes of getting an autograph. The official contended that it was not a campaign event and that the hats were used as support for Trump, not as a statement of political support.Although the event was not an official Trump re-election campaign event, the President did declare his candidacy for re-election in 2020 soon after his inauguration.White House press secretary Sarah Sanders told CNN the hats were personal items brought by the troops in Iraq and Germany. (KGTV) - Experts from the San Diego Zoo have been sent to Madagascar to help care for nearly 11,000 tortoises discovered in a massive poaching bust.The April 10 discovery by local police found the tortoises covering virtually every room in the raided home. The animals did not have access to food or water.Since the discovery, hundreds of the tortoises had died from dehydration and illness.RELATED: Tortoise with broken shell recovering after surgeryAuthorities believe the 10,976 tortoises discovered were part of illegal pet trading and planned for shipment to Asia. There, tortoises shells are highly prized, officials said.San Diego Zoo officials will help supply medical supplies, administer care, and general assistance, according to the zoo."Unfortunately we have had a number of situations in recent years where our staff has been called upon to assist animals that have been caught up in wildlife trafficking,” Kim Lovich, curator of reptiles at San Diego Zoo, said. "This is an overwhelming situation, where we recognize that every individual we save may make the difference between this species’ long-term survival and its extinction. We have to help."Crews are working to relocate the surviving tortoises to SOPTOM-Villages des Tortues, a 17-acre private wildlife facility in Ifaty, for further care.Zoo officials say radiated tortoise populations have declined more than 80 percent in the last 30 years.
