A third of car shoppers say they're more likely to consider air quality features for their next vehicle than before the pandemic, according to a survey from Cox Automotive.“Historically, I think people had this conception of if it looks clean, it must be clean right, but now going forward, the question is well it looks clean but is it sanitized?” said Pratik Patel, President of RideKleen. “And I think for people to feel safe getting into the car, knowing that OK there was some process of sanitization or some cleaning process that could protect them from bacteria and viruses is going to be important going forward.”Car companies are looking into systems like including a fixed UV light that would provide sanitization treatment while you're inside. The feature could also be integrated into the car's air conditioning system, so as the air circulates, it would continuously sanitize.“I would be shocked if car makers are not thinking about this for the future,” said Patel. “It doesn't exist today, so right now it is really third parties implementing either it's a service or a component that's added onto the vehicle.”Patel points out ride share vehicles are especially a concern with the number of people getting in and out of them frequently, and the cars not necessarily being disinfected between each customer. John Bel Edwards will narrowly win reelection, beating out Republican challenger Eddie Rispone, CNN projected Saturday night.Edwards will claim victory in a deep red state President Donald Trump won by 20 percentage points in 2016, and against a businessman who closely aligned himself with the President. Trump held two rallies in Louisiana over the past 10 days, but the attempt at a last-minute boost was not enough to carry Rispone over the finish line.Last month, Edwards was forced into a runoff election after falling short of the majority vote needed to clinch reelection. He was the top vote getter (47%) in the jungle primary in which all candidates, regardless of party affiliation, ran against each other. Rispone got 27% of the vote, Republican Ralph Abraham got 24%, and Republican Patrick Landry got 1%.Edwards, 53, is the only statewide elected Democrat in Louisiana. He has accomplished the national Democratic priority of expanding Medicaid, but has been far to the right of his party on some social issues -- including abortion rights and gun control. BUFFALO, N.Y. — Hours before a 3-year-old boy was found sleeping alone on a porch in Buffalo, New York, the rental car that his parents were driving was burned and human remains were found inside, police said.The parents of the boy, 24-year-old Nicole Merced Plaud and 31-year-old Miguel Anthony Valentin-Colon, as well as their friend, 29-year-old Dhamyl Mirella Roman-Audiffred, are considered missing persons.Now, Buffalo Police have released video that identifies persons of interest after the burned out vehicle was discovered in Buffalo's Black Rock neighborhood near where the boy was found. Police were also able to make a connection between the burned-out car and the toddler found. The department released three videos. The first shows an individual with a shirt over their head walking to the location on Tonawanda Street where the car would be burned. The second shows what appears to be the same person, moving quickly away from the scene with another individual and a child. The individual stops to put a shirt back on their head. On the left side of the frame, a flash can be seen that may be the car being ignited in flames. The third video is a slower, enhanced version of the second video. 1219
