SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A Bankers Hill woman may be forced to tear down part of her historic home to make way for a city park with an AIDS memorial.Otherwise, she faces thousands of dollars in daily fines from the city. Jennifer Hasso has owned the 1924 Tudor-style home since 1998. She says she's invested millions to restore it to its glory. The city even designated it as historic. The house sits at the end of 2nd Avenue in Bankers Hill. Right behind it, a nearly one-acre site on Olive Street the city is eyeing for a community park with an AIDS memorial. The park would also include fitness and seating areas, walkways and an overlook deck. County property maps show the city owns the land immediately north of Hasso's home, which has no setback from its property line. In fact, Hasso's bay window and chimney extend over that property line, and her entire backyard extend is across that line. 904

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A former San Diego Kaiser doctor who was caught watching child porn at work will have his license reinstated. The news of the reinstatement became available this week, in documents provided by the California Medical Board.Former psychiatrist Mark Zweifach went in front of the board three weeks ago for a hearing on reinstating his license. A video of the hearing recently became available to the public. For the first time on-camera, Zweifach describes his own shocking acts that still haunt him.LONGFORM: Former San Diego Kaiser doctor caught watching child porn at work tries to get his license back“Eleven years ago, on three occasions, I briefly viewed child pornography at my workplace,” he said.It was more than a decade ago that the admitted sex addict turned in his white coat, but the District Attorney's office didn't have enough evidence to bring criminal charges.California Medical Board paperwork reveals that the alarming discovery was made at a Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in El Cajon. Some of the paperwork reads, "While at work, on his Kaiser-issued computer, [he] viewed inappropriate images, including child pornography."“I didn't collect it. I didn't produce it. I didn't distribute it, but I viewed it,” he told the board during his recent hearing.RELATED: Other Team 10 investigationsSince then, Zweifach’s become an active part of the San Diego community, according to his online resumes. A 2014 La Jolla Light website article about a local puppet guild shows a photo of Zweifach as a puppeteer operating a large, red puppet. As of late July, he was listed as a board member of the San Diego Puppetry Guild’s website. The day after 10News reached out, his name was removed.Documents outline his road to rehabilitation, like a 12-step “Sexaholics Anonymous” program and “regular therapy.”During his recent hearing, he describes having confronted whatever happened to him as a kid that apparently made him vulnerable to addiction.“I did have a history of being exposed to childhood sexual experiences that profoundly affected me,” he explains.Zweifach also told the board that he’s had two relapses with viewing adult pornography, but it stopped there.“I thank God that in the last eleven years, I’ve been entirely free of viewing the underage images that led to the loss of my license,” he adds.Zweifach has expressed a great deal of remorse for his actions. His license will officially be reinstated on September 14th.Zweifach will be on five years of probation which includes a number of stipulations, including not treating minors. He must also undergo continued psychotherapy. 2651

SAN DIEGO (CNS)  - A 39-year-old woman suffered some head injuries Saturday morning during a home invasion at a residence in the Nestor community of San Diego, where one of two suspects fired a shot into the structure, shattering the glass of a rear patio door.No property was taken, said Officer Steve Bourasa of the San Diego Police Department. The woman was with her 45-year-old husband at their home in the 1500 block of Oro Vista Road when someone knocked on their front door a little before 1:30 a.m. and asked for a woman, Bourasa said.``The woman told the male no one by that name lived there," he said. ``The male left the front door and went to the rear of the residence, where he was joined by another male. The two males jumped the patio fence and began banging on the rear glass patio door."One of the suspects fired a shot into the patio door, shattering the glass and one of the two suspects entered the home, he said.He confronted the woman, demanded money and punched her several times when she said she did not have any money, he said.``Meanwhile, the husband had exited the front door and went around to the rear of the residence, where he saw the other male standing on the grass," Bourasa said. ``That male pointed a handgun at the husband and then fled."The man heard his wife screaming, ran back inside his home and saw her being assaulted by one of the two suspects. The man then began punching the suspect who had been assaulting his wife, causing the suspect to flee the residence, where he jumped over the patio fence and ran off, he said. The 39-year-old woman was transported to an area hospital, he said. One suspect was described as a 20 to 30 year old Latino man with a normal 5-foot, 7-inch tall normal build.
