A public school administrator in Nashville has resigned following the disclosure of a secret recording where he plotted to bypass filters designed to protect children from exposure to lead in their water.Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) executive director of facilities Dennis Neal, resigned Friday, according to MNPS communications director Olivia Brown. A mysterious metal object has shown up along a northern San Luis Obispo County hiking trail.The monolith on Atascadero’s Pine Mountain has three sides and is 12-feet tall, according to City officials.While when the object was placed there or by who hasn't been revealed, locals say it was a recent addition.Pine Mountain is part of the Atascadero Land Preservation Society (ALPS), which says it doesn't have information on the monolith. A Southwest Airlines flight with 117 people aboard slid off a runway on Thursday at California's Hollywood Burbank Airport during heavy rain, the Federal Aviation Administration said.There were no injuries reported, FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said.Flight 278, a Boeing 737-700 that originated in Oakland, California, came to a stop after running through an area of crushable material designed to bring an airplane to a halt, he said.The airport is open, and all airlines are operational, the airport tweeted. A record number of women are projected to win seats in the House in a massive night for female candidates across the political spectrum.As of Thursday morning, CNN projected at least 100 women would win House races, with 35 women newly elected to the House and 65 female incumbents. That bests the previous record of 85 representatives, according to the Congressional Research Service.
