Army officials at Fort Hood confirmed the identity of a soldier who was a suspect in the disappearance of Pfc. Vanessa Guillen who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Wednesday morning during a confrontation with police.Officials with the Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) confirmed the suspect who died Wednesday morning was Aaron Robinson. They also confirmed a second suspect — the estranged wife of a Fort Hood soldier — is also in custody in the Bell County Jail.CID declined to identify the name of the civilian suspect because it was "not in their jurisdiction."CID officials said Robinson and the civilian suspect are currently the only two suspects connected with the case. Officials said social media reports of a third suspect in the case were "irresponsible."The press conference took place a day after Guillen's family claimed that the missing soldier had reported to them before she disappeared that she had been sexually harassed. While CID said Thursday that an investigation into those allegations remains open, they have not yet found credible evidence of harassment.CID also refuted the family's claim that Robinson had harassed Guillen and that Robinson was Guillen's superior officer.Guillen went missing from Fort Hood on April 22. It wasn't until late June that the Army said it suspected foul play in connection with Guillen's death.Army officials reported earlier this week that human remains were found in connection with the search. An 11-year-old boy in Colorado is being called a hero after performing the Heimlich maneuver and possibly saving his younger brother from choking on his dinner.“So I got behind him went like this, pushed and pulled up about four times so the chicken could pop out and it did,” Elias Yatrakis told Denver7.Elias and his younger brother, Alex, were eating dinner on Monday night in their Greenwood Village home after a baseball game when the incident happened. The older boy says he knew what to do and jumped into action.“I was relieved. I was glad he was OK,” he said.“From my perspective, he saved his life,” mom Danielle Yatrakis said. “I’m just really glad he had the confidence and the knowledge to know what to do.”The 11-year-old had that knowledge because he had just recently learned what to do in a situation like this.“I am a Cub Scout so we had to take this CPR class in our basement and it taught CPR, the Heimlich,” he said. “I wasn’t really thinking. I knew what to do since I did that class.”Elias had earned his first aid badge as a part of the Cub Scouts just a few months earlier.“When he got the badge I’m like, 'that’s great to know,' but I mean I learned CPR before and I never used it. And so you’re kind of like they’re nice things to know and I now feel differently. As a variant strain of the coronavirus spreads through the United Kingdom, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, said in an interview on ABC News on Tuesday that it’s possible the variant is in the US."That's certainly possible I mean, when you have this amount of spread within a place like the UK, that you really need to assume that it's here already, and certainly is not the dominant strain, but I would not be surprised at all if it is already here," said Fauci on ABC News.The variant strain has fueled lockdowns and fears in the UK. It also has prompted much of the world to cut off travel to the UK. Health officials fear that the variant strain spreads more easily.The United States has not cut travel between the two countries. Fauci does not expect that to be necessary.“That's not that's not really in the cards right now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the requirement of testing is something that is being actively considered right now," Fauci said.The CDC reminded the public that viruses often mutate. The CDC added that it’s investigating why this version differs from the disease caused by other versions that are currently circulating.As travel remains permitted between the two nations, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo criticized officials for not cutting off travel.
