And what is it doing there?A family in Highland, Michigan, believes their house is haunted and what's even more disturbing is that whatever is haunting the home is doing harm to their little girl.Heather Brough and Joshua Higgins say they couldn't believe what they saw on their nanny cam."It’s almost like she sees something that we don’t," Brough said. It’s an image she and Higgins say is haunting their home."It was chilling," Higgins said. "It was literally a chill down your spine, like that 'what if' factor — is this what I just saw?"Caught on the couple's nanny cam video a few weeks ago is what appears to be something moving in front of the baby crib. The couple says it appears to be a ghost."I freaked out," Brough said. "I stopped what I was doing and I ran upstairs and grabbed my daughter."She says this so-called ghost scratched her daughter Lily and attacked her too."It scares us that it could do something else," Brough said. "I mean, there was a morning I woke up and I felt like someone’s hands were around my neck."A team of paranormal investigators came in and tried to answer some of the couple's questions and concerns. Higgins' father Jim says it may be someone who lived in this house before."The gentleman that lived here originally committed suicide apparently by jumping out this window, which is one story down," said Joshua's father, Jim Higgins, while recalling a story he was told about the home. The couple says they don’t know why this so-called ghost is targeting them, but say they don’t want any part of it."It’s not physically just going after her, it feels like it’s going after myself too," Brough said."I couldn’t get an explanation out of it, so it’s freaky is what it is," Higgins said.The couple says for now they are staying at the home in a room together with Lily until they have enough money to move. 1956

David Blaine is under investigation after reports of sexual assault were made against the magician, New York Police Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said on Monday.An active investigation is under way by the department's special victims division, Shea said at a news conference on Monday. Shea declined to provide any additional details.Meanwhile, sources familiar with the investigation told CNN that an accuser has come forward to file a report against Blaine with the NYPD. However, the allegation is outside the statute of limitations, according to the sources. CHICAGO, Ill. – For the first time, researchers say there’s a real connection between people not getting enough sleep and them craving calorie-packed junk food. For graduate student Daria Porter, sleep is often in short supply.“To function, I drink coffee and then during the day, I'll drink tea,” said Porter. But not getting enough rest can also lead her to making unhealthy choices.“Sometimes we'll run down here and grab a sweet snack if we're really struggling all of us,” Porter said. We all crave junk food from time to time, but now scientists say they might know more about how your nose plays an important role in why you reach for that doughnut when you’re tired. “So, the sense of smell helps us to decide what to eat and what not to eat,” said Thorsten Kahnt, an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.Kahnt just completed research looking what happens in the brain when study participants got a normal night’s sleep, versus just four hours, and how that affected their food choices.“So, when people are sleep deprived, they changed the type of food that they ate,” said Kahnt. The research indicated that when tired, the brain goes into hyperdrive – causing an enhanced response to high fat, calorie dense foods.“So, they ate food like donuts or chocolate chips that are richer in calories,” said Kahnt. In addition, scientists scanned people’s neurological responses to food and non-food odors when they were sleep deprived versus being well-rested.“The part of the brain that responds or processes food or odors in general,” said Kahnt. “That has a stronger response to food and non-food odors when you're sleep deprived.”The research provides new insights into the biological connection between sleep habits and weight gain. And how understanding that connection can help thwart making bad choices.Researchers say the best bet is to put that snack down and instead hit the sack. Edward Peng, a naturalized US citizen living in California, is being charged with spying for China's Ministry of State Security, the Justice Department announced Monday.Peng is alleged to have couriered thousands of dollars of cash through a series of dead drops to a double agent working for the US, and to have picked up classified information provided by the agent and delivered it to China, according to a court-filed affidavit. CINCINNATI — The FBI and a handful of police departments are working to verify a boy's story that he was abducted years ago, with police in Illinois saying he may be a boy who's been missing since 2011.Timmothy Pitzen is also the name of an Aurora, Illinois boy who has been missing since 2011. He was 6 at the time and would now be 14.The child told police he was being held in a Red Roof Inn somewhere in the Cincinnati area, but couldn't say which one, according to the police report. He said he escaped and kept running. He apparently crossed a bridge into Kentucky, the police report states. The boy described the kidnappers as two white males with body-builder type builds. One had black curly hair and was wearing a Mountain Dew shirt and jeans and had a spider web tattoo on his neck. The other was short with a snake tattoo on his arms. They were driving a white newer model Ford SUV with yellow transfer paint, Wisconsin plates and a dent on the left back bumper.An FBI spokesperson in Louisville said they're working with Newport, Kentucky police, Cincinnati police, the Hamilton County (Ohio) Sheriff's Office and Aurora, Illinois police on a missing child investigation.Multiple police agencies said they'd been told to check Red Roof Inns in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. Workers at several area hotels said authorities had spoken to them and/or requested their guest lists.Law enforcement sources close to the investigation said they're working on positively identifying the boy.
