SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — More than half of the San Diego-based breweries that participated in a fundraiser to help Camp Fire victims say they've completed their donation on time, according to research by the 10News team.In December, Sierra Nevada brewing asked breweries across the nation to brew "Resilience IPA" as a way to make money for the Butte Strong Fund.Sierra Nevada offered to provide the recipe and work with suppliers to get the ingredients donated. All the local brewers had to do was brew and sell the beer, and donate 100% of the proceeds to the fund.According to Sierra Nevada's Resilience IPA website, more than 1,400 breweries across the country signed up. That includes 43 in San Diego County.Sierra Nevada asked the brewers to finish selling Resilience IPA by April 30 and complete their donation by May 14.In an email sent to brewers on May 21, Sierra Nevada said that nearly half of the breweries still hadn't completed their donation.10News reached out to all 43 breweries in San Diego that took part in the effort to see if they're living up to their end of the fundraiser. We also asked how much money they were able to donate.Of the 43 San Diego breweries we called or emailed, 29 told us they had finished their donation and sent in a check. Those breweries sent more than 7,000 combined. Three breweries told us they haven't been able to finalize their donation. Eleven breweries have yet to respond to our questions.For Societe Brewery CEO Doug Constantiner, helping Camp Fire victims was personal."One of my really good friends lost his house in the fire," Constantiner says. "When we saw the email come through, there was no question about it. We knew we were on board and signed up right away."Societe brewed 20 barrels and raised ,000."I think people really got the message what the Resilience IPA was brewed for and were willing to put their dollars behind it, knowing it was going to a good cause," says Constantiner.San Diego-based AleSmith Brewing made a smaller, two-keg batch, but still raised ,400. " And I hope they would donate the money from that beer. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police and other credit card experts are warning of a new scam being used to steal bank card information and PINs.Earlier this month, police arrested four people who installed small cameras on ATMs. They say there could be more.Experts say stand-alone ATMs at stores or in parking lots are the most enticing targets for the thieves, as are drive-up ATMs."Whenever we come up with a way to figure out how to thwart it, then the crooks can figure out how to zig past that zag," says SDSU Fowler College of Business Lecturer Steven Andres.Andres says the best thing people can do is avoid using cards altogether. Andres says to use apps like Apple Pay, which don't send any bank information during transactions."They don't actually send your real credit card number to the vendor that you're working with. Instead, a random number gets sent that's only valid for that transaction at that vendor on that minute of the day. So in the future if that vendor has their computer system hacked, that number's completely worthless," Andres says.Otherwise, Andres says to use a credit card instead of a debit card, that way you can dispute a charge and not have to wait for the stolen money to be put back in your account.He also advises people to stay away from drive-up ATMs where it's more difficult to cover your PIN as you type it in. 1354

Danny Murphy is the Deputy Commissioner of Compliance for the Baltimore Police Department, which underwent sweeping reforms following public outrage over the 2015 death of Freddie Gray.“After the Freddie Gray incident, the Department of Justice launched an investigation into the Baltimore Police Department and found a pattern or practice of unconstitutional policing,” Murphy told 10News.RELATED:San Diego Police to implement new de-escalation policyReview board recommends de-escalation reforms to San Diego PoliceThe Baltimore Police Department's new policy requires that the use-of-force not only be reasonable but also necessary and proportional to the situation.
