A Detroit man says a manager at a nearby McDonald's tried to attack him and grab his phone after he asked the restaurant to fix his order.After a long day at work on Sunday, Tyler Lamb says he stopped at a Dearborn, Michigan McDonald's to grab some food.Lamb said his order was all wrong. According to him, the food was cold and items were missing, so he drove back through the drive thru to get his order fixed — while recording the incident on his phone.The employee working the drive-thru handled Lamb's complaint and told him to call the restaurant the next morning in order to remedy the situation.But things quickly got heated out of nowhere. The manager reached out of the drive-thru window and tried to grab Lamb's phone when she noticed he was recording.Lamb says he doesn't understand what made the manager so angry and feels he’s the one who should be upset, saying it would be nice to get an apology and his order fixed.McDonald’s has released the following statement in response to the incident: 1056

A Buckeye, Arizona man on active duty with the United States Air Force was booked into jail this week on second-degree murder charges after the death of his infant. On June 13, 2017, Phoenix Police responded to a report of a 3-month-old boy who was pronounced dead at Phoenix Children's Hospital. According to police paperwork, 25-year-old John Centano, the child's father, said he was home alone with the baby for about 20 minutes before he found him unresponsive on the master bed. He said it was about a minute or two after he left the child alone, face-down on the bed, to quickly grab shower items from the hallway bathroom. According to staff at the emergency room, Centano reportedly said he took a shower and returned to find the child unresponsive. An autopsy was performed on the child and his death was ruled a homicide due to complications with head trauma and other internal injuries. Investigators found evidence at the home suggesting that no shower items were retrieved from the hallway bathroom. Police say Centano made several inconsistent statements, including blaming their large dogs for the child's injuries. Centano was arrested on Tuesday and booked into jail on felony counts of second-degree murder and child abuse. Police documents show that Centano was employed with the United States Air Force on active duty.  1422

A federal judge has sentenced a Louisiana man to 25 years in prison for setting fires at three churches in the state in 2019.Earlier this year, Holden Matthews admitted that, between March 26 and April 4, 2019, he intentionally set fire to three churches in with predominantly Black congregations near Opelousas, Louisiana — Greater Union, Mt. Pleasant and St. Mary Baptist Churches — in an effort to raise his profile as a "Black Metal" musician by copying similar crimes committed in Norway in the 1990s.On Tuesday, Matthews was sentenced to 15 years in prison for intentional damage to religious property. He was then sentenced to 10 years in prison for a charge of using fire to commit a felony. Matthews did get 18 months credit for time already has served.The judge also asked the Bureau of Prisons to ensure he is placed in a facility near his family and that he receives substance abuse counseling and mental health treatment.Matthews was also ordered to pay restitution of 0,246 to St. Mary, 0,213.30 to Greater Union, and .1 million to Mt. Pleasant."These churches trace their origins to the post-Civil War Reconstruction period and, for generations, were a place for predominantly African American Christians to gather, pray, worship, and celebrate their faith," Assistant Attorney General Eric Dreiband said in a statement. "The churches survived for nearly 150 years but did not survive this defendant's warped act of hatred. I extend my sympathy to the victims of this defendant's arson spree, the congregants of St. Mary Baptist Church, Greater Union Baptist Church, and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. The Justice Department will continue vigorously to protect their right to worship and live in peace. The Justice Department stands against these acts of hate and the sentence handed down today reflects that. We will continue to protect the civil right of Americans to freedom of worship without fear of persecution.""Hate is not a Louisiana value, and decimating three historically African American churches is beyond disturbing," Louisiana Gov. A Detroit nonprofit says it was denied service because of the city it's located in.Franklin Wright Settlement has been in business for more than 134 years on the east side of Detroit, and says a bounce house company would not deliver to the city because of safety issues.Deon Mullen, director of the Franklin Wright Settlement, said he tried to rent a bounce house for an annual event for kids, but says Awesome Bounce in Canton told him no."I was quite surprised," he said.Awesome Bounce sent Mullen an email saying the company does not service Detroit because of employees being robbed and equipment being stolen and damaged in the past. Mullen said he was offended by the email and said not all of Detroit is dangerous. He said he feels the owner's decision is bad business.Mullen said he is most upset at a certain part of the owner's response, where he states he feels sorry for the deserving children who were born into one place and not another. He also doesn't feel that the issue of safety is a valid excuse."It can happen anywhere," Mullen said. "In any suburban community, crime can happen."The owner offered to sell Mullen a used bounce house.Mullen said he understands a businessman's concerns about employee's safety, but labeling all of Detroit as bad was something that didn't sit well with him. 1339
