President Donald Trump described Oprah Winfrey as "very insecure" and accused her of "biased and slanted" after an interview on CBS's "60 Minutes" that addressed his presidency.Oprah hosted a group discussion with 14 voters who had appeared on the show in fall 2017 -- half who had voted for Trump and half who had not.The discussion looked at whether the the pro-Trump panelists still backed the President, his alleged "s***hole countries" comments, the worldview of the US under his leadership, questions around Trump's stability and fitness for office, and accusations of inappropriate sexual behavior.""Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes. The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!" Trump tweeted after the show was broadcast. Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes. Police arrested a Gilbert, Arizona man accused of stealing nearly ,000 worth of items from Home Depot. Chandler (Arizona) Police report that from February 2012 to February 2018, Antoine Elkik, 57, made nearly ,000 by stealing goods from Home Depot stores in Maricopa County. Police say Elkik would legitimately purchase products, put them in his car, then immediately go back to the store with his receipt and select the same products and exit the store. If he were questioned, he would show the sales associate the receipt from the prior purchase. He would later, reportedly, return the stolen products to the store for a refund. Police say he purchased 402 items since 2012, returning all of them for refunds. Home Depot Organized Crime Investigators said, "Antoine was identified through analytical reporting in which he was showing a high amount of refunds." He was arrested on March 27 and has been charged with 30 counts of retail theft. 997

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday a "surge" of federal forces to cities around the country as part of Operation Legend: an initiative to reduce violent crime in several cities across the country.President Trump announced the Department of Defense will immediately send federal law enforcement agents to Chicago and Albuquerque. He said offices and agents from several federal agencies will head to Chicago to help local efforts. He said officers were headed to other cities, but only mentioned those two cities by name on Wednesday. He also announced M available in grants for municipalities to hire officers as part of Operation Legend. "We will not defund the police, we will hire more great police," President Trump said. On July 8, Attorney General William Barr launched the initiative by sending federal agents to Kansas City, where violent crime is up 40% since last year. At least 100 murders have taken place in the city so far this year.Among those murdered in Kansas City was 4-year-old LeGend Taliferro, who was killed by a bullet as he slept in his bed. Operation Legend is named for him. LeGend's family attended Wednesday's press conference and shared their endorsement of Operation Legend."We want justice for our son, and for others," LeGend's mother, Charron Powell, said at Wednesday's press conference. "Operation Legend is not to harm, harrass ... it's to solve crimes." Barr said Operation Legend is the result of more than a year of work to create anti-crime task forces in large cities around the country. He said these officers are "classic crime fighters" and are not part of efforts to protect federal property. However, not all cities have been receptive to the Trump administration's plan. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has signaled she would not welcome the agents, and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has threatened to file a lawsuit to keep the agents out.On Wednesday, mayors from 13 major U.S. cities signed a letter asking Barr and Acting Homeland Security Sec. Chad Wolf to remove the agents from their cities. The Trump administration has already deployed federal agents to the streets of Portland in the hopes of quelling anti-police brutality protests in the city. The agents' presence in the city has ratcheted up the intensity of protests in recent days, as agents have deployed tear gas and have been seen hitting and punching protesters.According to Customs and Border Patrol, its agents were sent to Portland as part of President Donald Trump's executive order aimed at protecting monuments and statues — not as a part of Operation Legend. 2597

President Donald Trump hit the campaign trail for the first time since his coronavirus diagnosis.Trump attended a rally in Sanford, Florida, on Monday, before thousands of supporters who were standing shoulder to shoulder. The majority of those in attendance were not donning face coverings, flouting public health recommendations. After the president boarded Air Force One for the flight to Florida, presidential physician Dr. Sean Conley confirmed that Trump has tested negative for the coronavirus and is no longer infectious.Trump declared himself “immune" from the coronavirus to his supporters on Monday.“Now they say I am immune. I feel so powerful. I’ll walk in there, I’ll kiss everyone in that audience,” Trump told supporters. “I’ll kiss the guys and the beautiful women and every mouth. I’ll just give you a big fat kiss.”Florida is a crucial state for Trump to win re-election. While Biden is leading in most major polls in the state, most polls show Biden’s lead is within the margin of error. Only one major poll, last week’s Quinnipiac survey, had Biden’s lead ahead of the margin of error.Meanwhile, Democratic nominee Joe Biden stumped in Cincinnati. Based on polling, Ohio has become a toss-up state after Trump won the state in 2016 by 8%. The five most recent presidential polls in Ohio showed the race within the margin of error. Three of the polls gave Biden a slight edge, one poll had the race tied, and another poll gave Trump a slight lead.Biden’s Ohio rally will be akin to a drive-in, with supporters spaced out in a parking lot.The backdrop of the rallies are amid a rise in coronavirus cases throughout the US. On Friday, Ohio reported its highest number of coronavirus cases in a single day with 1,840 confirmed infections. Florida though is among a handful of states seeing a decrease in cases following a summer surge. While cases are declining, coronavirus-related deaths have remained high in the state. All told, the coronavirus has claimed the lives of more than 15,000 Floridians.Voters have just 22 days to decide on a presidential candidate. 2089
