(KGTV) -- Wet winters are no longer a sign that California will have a reduced risk of wildfires, according to a new study. The study claims that from 1600 and 1903, the position of the North Pacific jet stream over California was linked to the amount of precipitation and the severity of the following wildfire season. After 1904, the connection between winter moisture brought by the jet stream and the severity of wildfire season weakened.
