China is ready to deepen cooperation with WEF and hopes the forum will continue to to play an active role in promoting the understanding between China and the international community, Li added.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and his Kazakh counterpart Karim Massimov made the pledge when they met on the sidelines of the ongoing World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

The G77, established in 1964, is now a coalition of more than 130 developing U.N. member states plus China, and has more than 60 percent of the world's population.

Liu said the open debate will be for members states to "commit ourselves to peace and security in the world, to promote international fairness and justice and also to foster a new model of international relations based on cooperation and win-win" solutions.

"We are willing to strengthen political trust with Sri Lanka, enhance high-level exchange and substantial cooperation, safeguard common interests, and promote the healthy and smooth development of our strategic cooperative partnership," he said.
