Amazon’s announcement that it was pulling out of a planned 25,000-person “HQ2” in New York City elicited a wave of shock and surprise from coast to coast on Thursday morning.
Amazon’s employee base continued to grow, reaching 69,100 people as of the end of the quarter, including people at its Seattle headquarters and distribution centers around the world. That was up from 65,600 at the end of the first quarter.
Among the problems, however, at least from Chinese perspective, is in the way the goal is achieved.
