VISTA (CNS) - A professional photographer who sexually assaulted four teenage girls during modeling sessions at a rented Carlsbad residence where he had set up a temporary studio was sentenced to 25 years in state prison Friday.Robert Koester, 52, pleaded guilty last month to 23 felonies related to raping and inappropriately touching the teens -- some of whom were drugged and unconscious during the abuse -- as well as creating child pornography of the girls.Koester also faces federal charges locally, as well as charges in his home state of Oregon, where he's accused of assaulting additional victims.RELATED: Modeling photographer pleads guilty to sex crimes against teenagersDeputy District Attorney Dan Owens said the investigations against Koester began with one of his local victims, identified in court only as Jane Doe 1, who came forward regarding the abuse and "put a stop" to his ongoing crimes. Based on her statements, Koester was arrested Nov. 13, 2018, in Carlsbad."The victims in this case showed extraordinary strength in coming forward and speaking out against this man who victimized them," according to Owens, who said the case has had "a tremendous impact on the victims who were involved in this case, not only them, but their families."Koester, who had been hired as a contract worker by Carlsbad-based Frank Model Management, raped and took nude photographs of the girls, whose ages ranged from 15 to 17 during the San Diego County incidents. (KGTV) - Two Sheriff's deputies are under an internal review after video surfaced of an arrest in the North County this week.A 911 call was made Monday from a woman on Madera Lane, who said she was a domestic violence victim and being held against her will, according to the San Diego Sheriff's Department. Deputies responded and said they ultimately arrested Gerardo Martinez Jr., 23, and 50-year-old Gerardo Martinez Sr.MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhoodThe younger was booked on charges including false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, and disobeying a court order. SDSO charged Martinez Sr. with obstructing a public officer and removing someone from the lawful custody of a peace officer, though he has bailed out of custody.Video of the arrest, however, soon landed at least two deputies involved with the arrest in hot water.The footage posted on social media showed one of the men being led away in handcuffs before a deputy appears to shove him into a fence. The man's face is slammed into the wooden fence before the deputy leads him away.At the same time, four other deputies hold the second man to the ground, one of them appears to repeatedly strike the man in the head. It isn't clear if the man on the ground was also handcuffed or whether the deputy struck the man with a closed fist or open hand.Two deputies have been placed on administrative assignment, pending an internal investigation, SDSO said Wednesday. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) — A Vista bike shop owner is fed up after his shop was broken into for the third time in six months.Early Sunday morning, Jesse McCormack got a call from his security company. The person on the phone notified him that thieves had gotten into his shop, 211 Bikes, again.“I woke up in an immediate panic,” McCormack said.This month, he was supposed to be celebrating his one year anniversary at the location. Instead, he is filing yet another police report.The surveillance video shows a man wearing a hoodie and shorts ransacking the shop, snipping cable locks, and running out.The man captured on the security video took a 2017 MASI Volare worth ,199, a MASI Vivo Uno worth ,999, a Haro Shredder 12" worth 0, a rack of sunglasses worth ,000, and several important files.The first time 211 Bikes was the target of a crime was last October, just six months after opening. No one was arrested for the crime. “It was a wake-up call,” McCormack recalled.The second break-in was on December 10, 2017. Five rare road bikes, along with other equipment, were stolen. “There’s some nights that I don’t really want to go home,” McCormack sighed. “I just feel like I need to stay the night here, and just keep an eye on things.”In the last six months, McCormack has lost at least ,000. He and his landlord have put up new security cameras, LED lights, locked up the bikes, even changed the dead bolts.When one of the stolen bikes was listed on online sale app, he even worked with detectives to arrest the seller. But the thefts continued.McCormack recently got a call from another bike shop owner. They sent McCormack a photo of a man, riding a rare and expensive road bike in San Marcos —The exact one that was stolen from his shop in December.He immediately noticed that the leg tattoo on this rider was very similar, if not a match, to the tattoos on the man captured on Sunday morning’s surveillance video.“He matches the description I have of the prior incident,” McCormack said.This could be a break, he said, hoping that somebody recognizes the man, and turns him into the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.“Action needs to be taken,” McCormack said. “We need to have the ability to feel safe, in order to conduct business, especially as a small and vulnerable business owner, who is operating on a shoe string budget."McCormack is now working with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, asking for increased patrols in the area.He thought about changing locations.
