RAINBOW (CNS) - One person was killed this afternoon when an SUV veered off a rural road in the far northern reaches of the San Diego area, struck a tree and caught fire, authorities reported.The fatal accident was reported about 4:45 p.m. on Pala Temecula Road, just south of the Riverside County line in the Rainbow community, according to the California Highway Patrol.The victim, whose identity was not immediately available, died at the scene of the crash, which left the roadway blocked in the area. 513

He and his father, former Congressman Duncan Hunter Sr. - R were guest speakers at "The Border: Then and Now!" event, hosted by a conservative group, American Liberty Forum- Ramona. The elder Hunter remembered San Ysidro during his early years in Congress in the 1980s and 1990s. "The border was a no-man's land. And everybody knows that here, that you didn't go to the border when it was close to being dark," Hunter Sr. said. Border Patrol statistics showed in 1986, San Diego agents apprehended nearly 630,000 people attempting to cross the border illegally. But double-layer fencing dropped that number to close to 32,000 arrests in 2016. They also argued that crime numbers dipped, and the economy boomed in that time. Because of these, both Hunters said they support the President's Border Wall plan. "If you can move troops to Syria, then you can move troops to the border, and build a wall on the border, and say it is in the interest of national security," the current Congressman said. But Friday, a federal judge temporarily blocked the President's plan to transfer military funds to build more border fencing. This was something that the Congressman did not agree with. "His lawyers need to fight it. They need to do it now, and it should go up to the Supreme Court," Hunter said. President Donald Trump took action Wednesday to make it a little easier for the nation's military spouses to find employment as their families deploy domestically and abroad.The President signed an executive order aimed at increasing opportunities for military spouses to obtain federal jobs and encouraging agencies to increase their use of the noncompetitive hiring authority for military spouses. Trump said he hoped the executive action would encourage private-sector businesses to follow suit in their hiring practices.Speaking to a crowd of military spouses at the White House, the President said, "Your support is essential to making our military the mightiest fighting force in the world and getting stronger all the time."He continued, "We can never repay you for all that you do. We know what you do, and your spouse knows what you do.
