Trash is strategically layered on top and then buried to help seal it off.In some cases, the sealed pile is covered in cement or asphalt and developed in homes or businesses. But those sealed-off piles still give off greenhouse gas emissions and fumes that can harm the environment and peoples' health.Some companies use technology to reduce emissions by capturing them and turning them into renewable energies. (KGTV) - A preliminary 3.1-magnitude earthquake jostled the Anza region, sending shivers into the North San Diego County area Saturday.The tremor hit about two miles northeast of Anza, in southern Riverside County, just before 12 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It has a depth of about 7.4 miles.According to the USGS' "Did you feel it?" map, the shakeup could be felt in Temecula and into Orange County, and as far away as Jamul. Most reports were centered around Cathedral City and Anza.There were no immediate reports of damages or injuries.One week ago, magnitude-3.5 and -3.2 earthquakes hit the same region.Multiple aftershocks were recorded following Saturday's earthquake, though most below 1.0. ARLINGTON, Va. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) says it screened more travelers on the day before Thanksgiving than any day since March 16, around the time the COVID-19 pandemic hit the U.S.TSA spokesperson Lisa Farbstein announced on Twitter Thursday that the administration screened 1,070,967 people at its checkpoints nationwide on Wednesday.“It's the highest volume since March 16 and only the 4th time passenger throughput has topped 1 million since that date,” wrote Farbstein.Still, air travel is significantly down, compared to in 2019.
